Fiya is our expression of various Levantine and related cuisines, cuisines that have blended and evolved over centuries, often showing different personalities as one moves from here to there - Yemen, Morocco, Syria, Turkey, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Georgia, and many others. What we especially love about the cuisine is that it is healthy while being delicious, veggie and fruit forward with a lesser emphasis upon diary and meat. And Fiya revolves around a wood-burning brick oven, literally and figuratively, turning out fresh pita among other menu items. Ultimately we aspire to do honor to the heritage of the cuisine, and to welcome all to the restaurant, especially the wonderful diversity that is Andersonville.
“The food here never disappoints! I’m not vegetarian, but I often find myself drawn to the vegetarian dishes on the menu—the falafel and roasted cauliflower are absolutely delicious. The cocktails are fantastic as well. And of course, the atmosphere is part of what makes this place so special: the patio is absolutely adorable, while the cozy interior is just as inviting. It’s the kind of restaurant you’ll want to return to again and again.”
“We’re FoF, Fans of Fiya. We’ve been there a zillion times. The last time we were there, which was this past Friday night, we listed all the people we had introduced to the restaurant. We counted a dozen. Food is always good. We like the lively vibe and love the quaint back patio in the warmer months. 🌟Obviously, we highly recommend it.🌟. Enjoy!!”
“Fiya was the perfect choice for a birthday. The chef presented a cut of lamb as a daily special that really served as the best birthday meal! Staples like hummus, pita, and falafel did not disappoint either. Our waiter, Brian (Bryan?), cued us into all the tasty aspects of the menu with a killer sense of humor and a keen eye on making sure we enjoyed the birthday festivities. We loved his recommendations and think he was worth coming to the restaurant alone. Thanks for recommending those sweet potatoes, wow! Regular cocktails were amazing, but you should definitely try the Gazoz in its many varietals. The basque cheesecake was also phenomenal. We'd come back again for any occasion and recommend you do the same! What a neighborhood gem.”
“Restaurant weeker here! We made a reservation online and manages to grab a slot for the next day. Location is super convenient if you take the 22. The vibes inside were cool with their giant pizza oven and the staff were really friendly. Unfortunately if you're not sitting at the bar I think you cannot get happy hour deals. The course food was really good overall and super filling. There were 3 of us but we got 4 people's worth of servings essentially (for the price of 3 people) which was great. Good Mediterranean sampler foods. Dessert was okay though. Drinks were generally great.”
“The food was good. But overshadowed by member of my party getting fingers burned by scalding sink water in the bathroom. Requested ice to treat the burn. Bartender went to get burn cream and gave ice. Our party also experienced issues with table service. The server didn’t check that we all had received our food, and one member was missing their order for awhile. We had to ask about the missing food. One of the guests ordered the salad with chicken shawarma and was surprised to find bones in the chicken. The server refilled the coffee but left out offering decaf coffee refills to one of the guests. We had reservation for late Sunday morning.”
