The Turf Room is an American restaurant in the North Aurora neighborhood of North Aurora.
“Had a wonderful night out with some friends. I ordered the Ricotta Tortellacci, the Honey Dew Me Martini, as well as the Mother Dearest. Everything was fresh and incredibly delicious! The outdoor seating was very comfortable, and our experience with our waiter Chris made it a 10/10 for the night!”
“To start off on this amazing place, the service was out standing. Kind people, and they were quick on stuff. The food was amazing something I've never tasted before. Even made me love mushrooms even more. I can't stand how beautiful the place was, the smell of wood, and the fire places just puts the cherry on top. Even the bathrooms were clean with some humor on the signs. Love this place and definitely will come back here.”
“Oh my God!! Seriously if this place has a 10 star rating it would be too low. My wife and I came here for our anniversary was welcomed by all and acknowledged that multiple times. Food and cocktails are exceptional from the bread and butter, sausage pepper flat bread, salmon and pasta to the whisky drinks. Thank you for making our experience grand. Looking forward to coming back with our family.”
“Finally made it out to The Turf Room in Aurora. I have eaten at its sister restaurants Hardware and Fortunato, so it was nice to complete the trio. The first thing that hit me was the cozy and rustic, yet upscale and elegant vibe. The interior seating was nice but it was way too nice a day to be indoors. And The Turf Room has beautiful outdoor seating. The food and drink from start to finish was phenomenal. I heard they make great martinis, so I had to start with that. My date got the Comfortably Numb (yellow) and I got the Love You Long Time (purple). I liked both but the uniqueness of the Love You Long Time with the combination of vodka, sake, and champagne float made it my favorite. Martinis are $17, but they shake it and serve it table side. And you get a generous serving. The complementary bread is a standout. The waiter told us it was made using the spent grain from their sister restaurant’s brewery. The bread is good but the butter and salt make it something special. I would put it up against Texas Roadhouse bread and butter any day. For my entree, I got the Chicken Caprese Lasagna. They nailed this riff on a lasagna. Everything was flavorful, highlighted by the chicken ragu and Gouda fondue. My date got the sea bass salad. She liked it but said she had the one with fresh raw tuna on it before and preferred that salad more. For dessert, I already knew I had to try the root beer cookies with vanilla ice cream. It lived up to the hype. It tastes like a gingersnap cookie with root beer flavoring. The cookie came out warm, crisp on the outside, and moist on the inside. Lovely desert that was easy to share. The service is where The Turf Room fell down. We came here with 2.5 hours before a theater show at the downtown Aurora Paramount theater. Dinner took 2 hours because service here moves at a snails pace. We had to ask for our bill to come out with our dessert because we worried it would be another half hour before we saw our waiter. He had a casual, “don’t care” kind of attitude about him. Getting a take out box for left overs took asking him three times! I would definitely return to The Turf Room for the ambiance and food / drinks. But they really need to get way better waiters to complete the aesthetic they are striving for. As is, I would not leave less than a 2.5 hour cushion if you have later theater plans (luckily the Paramount is only a short 15 minute drive).”
“I came here with a group of 10, and overall it was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was absolutely delicious—every dish we tried was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the drinks were crafted perfectly. The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great spot for group gatherings, and the service was impressively quick. Unfortunately, my personal experience with the service left a bad impression. While our server seemed friendly and attentive to others in the group, I felt like I received the cold shoulder the entire time. It made the experience feel uneven and, honestly, a bit uncomfortable. For me, the whole package matters—not just great food and ambiance, but also how you’re treated. It’s disappointing because I often organize large group outings, and this experience makes me hesitant to return. Hopefully this was just an off night, but it did put a damper on an otherwise great meal.”
