“Trivoli Tavern was the highlight of our Chicago trip! We had reservations and were greeted promptly. The restaurant is super cozy with great music and ambiance. There were so many great food options, and we had the rolls, prime rib, caesar salad, and they were all great. But the absolute best part was the sticky date cake, do not skip it! Our waiter was incredibly kind and definitely the best server we had all week.”

“My daughter saw this place on social media and ChatGPT also recommended it as onenofnthebmost favorite- I was skeptical since not all places advertised turn out to be really good- but this place exceeded our expectations in terms of the food and atmosphere. Fish and chips was the best I tasted, fish very fluffy and the tartar sauce was amazing. Shaved rib steak sandwich was my favorite and they even treated us a dessert as my bday is coming up- we will certainly be back🙏🏻”

“An absolute must if you live in Chicago. You’ve probably seen Trivoli Tavern on Instagram, but it’s even better in person. We grabbed an early Saturday reservation and it was perfect—great energy without feeling rushed or overcrowded. Started with rye Old Fashioneds and martinis; the dirty martini was especially good, perfectly balanced and not overly salty. Food-wise, don’t skip the bread rolls. The orecchiette was fantastic—spicy, comforting, and seriously satisfying. The shrimp pasta was also very good, with a richer, more tomato-forward sauce. Dessert sealed the deal: the ice cream and cake were outstanding. A classic Chicago spot that truly lives up to the hype. Perfect for a fun night with friends or an excellent date night.”

“Phenomenal experience from start to finish! Service was impeccable. Drinks were unique. Menu has so many options for all types of cuisine. Happy hour menu was great for such a busy restaurant! We had the fried chicken, the chicken pot pie and the burger. I can say it was honestly hard to choose a favorite! We opted to enjoy dessert to go. The key lime pie and the toffee cake were out of this world delicious. The brown butter ice cream alone would send me back in for another meal. This place might be a new favorite in the city. Make a reservation in advance as it's pretty difficult to get last minute unless you're into an early or late time slot. We opted for early and we weren't disappointed.”

“My girlfriend and I came to Trivoli Tavern for our anniversary, and overall we had a nice experience. The atmosphere was great, definitely lively and not a quiet restaurant, but the vibe was enjoyable and fit the setting well. The host staff was friendly, and we were seated within minutes of our reservation. Our server was pleasant and offered some recommendations, which we appreciated. To start, we had the Parker House rolls and oysters. The rolls were good, but not something I’d personally rave about, just solid bread. The oysters were fresh and enjoyable. For entrées, we ordered the vodka rigatoni and the double burger. The rigatoni was decent, but felt a bit overhyped based on everything I’d heard beforehand. The burger was very good, probably an 8/10, although for the price I’d expect it to be. For dessert, we had the sticky date cake, and that was one of the highlights of the meal. If you have a sweet tooth, it’s definitely worth ordering. It was soft, sweet, and the ice cream balanced everything nicely. The drinks were another standout. They were well-made, flavorful, and definitely strong enough to justify the price. My biggest criticism would be the service. While our server was friendly when we interacted with him, it often felt like our table was overlooked. He regularly checked on the surrounding tables while passing by ours, and the busser actually stopped by our table more frequently than our server did. I’m not sure if it was because my girlfriend and I look younger than we are, but it was noticeable throughout the meal. Overall, I’d give the food around a 7/10. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and I’m glad we tried it, but it wasn’t quite the memorable dining experience I was expecting based on the hype. I’d recommend giving it a try, especially for the drinks, atmosphere, and dessert, but I don’t see myself rushing back anytime soon,maybe for cocktails and a few snacks at the bar.”
