“DOMOTO by DOMO has quietly become one of my regular go-to spots in Closter. I’ve been there enough times now to say the consistency is seriously impressive. Every item on the menu feels meticulous, thoughtful, and genuinely delicious. My favorites are easily the curry, the katsu, and the Korean fried chicken — all packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. Even the bread they use stands out somehow; soft, fresh, and ridiculously tasty in a way most places overlook completely. The whole restaurant has this relaxed, modern energy that makes it easy to keep coming back. One of those rare spots where you can order almost anything and know it’s going to hit.”

“The food was fantastic and the portions were very generous! The sashimi platter was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the inclusion of real, fresh wasabi was a great touch. While it would have been nice if the platter included miso soup to make the meal feel a bit more complete, I really have no complaints. The interior is beautiful and matches the vibe of trendy Japanese restaurants in the city, yet it remains very family-friendly.”

“I’m here basically every week—it’s easily my favorite spot in the area. Massive win that they finally added Thursdays to the schedule; I used to have to plan my week around their mid-week closure, so having that extra night available is a game changer for my rotation. Corn Corn Appetizer: This is a mandatory order every single time. It’s incredibly consistent. The corn is perfectly charred, but the real star is that honey mustard dipping sauce. It’s the kind of pairing you find yourself thinking about a few days later. Great for BYOB Pork Tenderloin Katsu: I’ve had a lot of katsu, but this is cooked to a perfect temperature. The meat is so soft you don’t even need a knife. They also nail the small details—the cabbage is sliced paper-thin, making it light and refreshing, and the black sesame dressing is exactly where it needs to be. Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée: Do not skip dessert here. The sweet potato crème brûlée is a standout—perfectly torched on top with a rich, unique flavor that isn't overly sweet. As someone who spends a lot of time checking out different restaurants, I can say it's rare to find a place that hits this level of consistency. Whether it’s a quick Thursday dinner or a weekend staple, this place never misses.”

“Presentation, Vibe, Cleanliness, Comfortable seating level, Staff Services, Food are all above average! The sashimi is thick cut and fresh. The mussels broth has a bit of spicy taste but it’s so good. The spicy minced pork udon is surprisingly delicious as well but there’s peanut butter inside so allergic ppl can’t eat. The crust of the katsu is super fluffy and crunchy. The quality of the food is on top. The staffs are friendly and always care about your needs. Definitely will come back to try other dishes again! Updated: 2nd time visit again today for dinner, port tenderloin has tender quality as good as in Japan!”

“We came here for the first time and was very excited for it. The interior design is good, and there are plenty of space. Service was a little slow on weekends, but they had crayons and coloring papers for kids to keep them entertained. Food is good, but portions are small and expensive. I got four pieces of chicken tender Katsu with rice (overcooked!) and a tiny cabbage salad for $21, like really? Kids menu are $12ish. There are better places in the Fort Lee and Edgewater area….”
