HIROKI-SAN Detroit is a Japanese restaurant in the Detroit neighborhood of Detroit.
“My fiancé and I visited for his birthday and both agree that this is the best restaurant experience we have ever had! The service was outstanding. Our server, Anna, was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. She explained the entire menu to us (if she hadn’t, we would not have been so inclined to try as many things as we did) and she did everything in her power to make our night unforgettable. The food is absolutely incredible and worth every dollar! You can truly taste the quality. We had the pork kakuni udon, gyoza, hirata buns, kanpachi sashimi, and yuji roll! The pork was so tender it was hard to pick up with chopsticks! I don’t eat raw fish but wanted to try it, and the yuji roll was hands down the best sushi I have ever had! The portions were not large, but we left feeling completely satisfied! We also had the togarashi glow and the shiroyama to drink - both were so tasty! We will absolutely be back to celebrate our next milestone 🤍”
“Sitting at the sushi bar was a fantastic experience. The waitress was phenomenal, and we enjoyed talking with the sushi chef while he prepared our food. Great service, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back!”
“Very impressed! Sarah (sp?) was so knowledgable/real and led us through the menu with honest advice that was spot on. Bar program is stellar - every ingredient shone. That applied to the menu as well. I was a initially skeptical re: menu size but it was winner after winner from each section. Yakitori was really special, cool to see a Detroit place using binchotan! Scratched that Tokyo itch! The chawanmushi was immediately transportative. Sashimi platter top notch, fresh, cold, buttery, clean, I ignored my soy sauce. Presentation across the board was simple and artful. Ambiance, lighting, plating, glassware, flatware, all really nice. You're going to spend money so steel yourself and shut up, you'll have a great time! Life is short, get the snow beef and tell em to skip the sauce! Joins my unoffical *Detroit Metro Makes Me Feel Like I'm Back In Japan Trio* with Sharaku/Hanzo and Crazy Sushi Mad Heights (RIP)! Shoutout Aiden!”
“Hiroki-San is a masterclass of a culinary experience. It is one of the best restaurants and meals I have ever had in my life, and I have been all over Japan, so that is saying something. I loved everything we ordered, but my favorite has to be the Tako-Age, it was the most tender Octopus I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Thank you to Nate for his hospitality and treating my party and I like family.”
“we were expecting something that was Japanese forward, but what we got was more Chinese flavors, which is not bad. it pricer than we thought too. likeeeeee lets be so real if you are Asian expecting Japanese, skip on this place. honestly, it felt more Chinese than Japanese. Plum sauce forward in the duck soba- black vinegar forward in the chawanmushi - grated ginger scallion sauce in the chicken thigh skewer alllllll chinese influenceeeee. eeeh like chirashi might’ve been skimping on sashimi. but service is great shout out Millie. you the best girlie.”
