“Went here okay a date with my boyfriend on March 30th. We came in during their lunch/happy hour time. The place was empty. It was clean and our server had a nice curly mustache. Can’t remember his name. But he was great and explained the menu well. We had elote and chips and salsa as our appetizers. The elote was amazing! Will definitely order it again. I got the chimichangas with a passion fruit margarita and my boyfriend had chicken and steak enchiladas with Saratoga sparkling water. We will be coming back again maybe for dinner. To see what the atmosphere is like at night.”
“Manny is amazing!!!!!! Service 10/10. Food 10/10. Atmosphere 10/10. Don’t believe me, try it for yourself. Some of THE BEST Mexican food I have ever had. Don’t mind the half eaten photos (the food was just that good). The mango salsa is perfect!! Everything is just so flavorful and well balanced. Bring a friend. Bring a date. Bring yourself.”
“Manny is fantastic, and so are all the other staff! They were very friendly and service was impeccable. We went for a weekday lunch and there was no wait. Upon sitting down, a basket full of chips and a small bowl of salsa were brought to us. For appetizers, we got the avocado fritters ($10) which delightfully tasted like fried, fresh guacamole, as well as the Mexican street corn ($9) which is helpfully off the cob. I would especially recommend the avocado fritters for a savory, light start to your meal. I found the street corn was a little mayo-heavy, so it was best paired with the chips. We also got the skirt steak ($21) and al pastor enchiladas ($18), both with red (rojas) sauce. The enchiladas are served with beans, rice, and salad. A generous amount of sauce with a layer of melted cheese coated the soft enchiladas perfectly and, inside the tortilla, was the flavorful meat with an enjoyable grilled flavor. I would definitely get the enchiladas again. We happened to visit near Valentine's Day and Manny suggested we try a specialty (pink) mocktail ($7), which was just the right amount of sweet and presented beautifully. The restaurant was decorated, which I noticed VEGA does for other holidays as well, and added to the lovely atmosphere of dining in. There's a water feature (an artificial waterfall) in the center of the dining area that both provides ambient noise and also helps to regulate the noise level from conversations. VEGA is super convenient to get to if traveling by train, as the Hartsdale train station is a 3-minute walk away. Although there isn't a lot of street parking, there's a metered parking garage nearby across the street. We had previously tried VEGA for takeout, ordering the tender, mouth-watering carnitas ($22), and found that it was excellent too. I will be back and think VEGA is a great local option for Mexican food!”
“Amazing food (especially the empanadas) and incredible service. The nonalcoholic spicy margaritas were flavorful and the plating was impressive. I would definitely come back again!”
“I went to lunch here with my sister and niece 2 weeks ago. We got coconut shrimp, tostones with ceviche, steak nachos, chicken taco salad, passionfruit margarita and flan. All of it was delicious. I went several years ago and I didn’t like the food but I wanted to give it another shot seeing recent positive reviews. I’m so glad I did. I highly recommend Vega! I can’t wait to go back again.”
