“We came to know about Anokha on a comedy show haha. We tried shrimp Koliwada as appetizer, Seafood Kozambu (Salmon), tanddori roti, chapati and papadum. The food was all so delicious 🤤. Koliwada was tasty, fresh, crunchy. Kozambu was so good, so well cooked curry and salmon was soft. We will come again to try other food. The servers were friendly and atmosphere is cozy, with soft music on the background. There are beautiful paintings on the wall too.”
“Went here for the first time. We were seated immediately, the staff was very friendly also took quite a bit of time talking to one of the members in our party that had never eaten Indian food explaining the different dishes. He also explained to me the spice level very clearly. I asked for the Goat Curry, spice level 5. It was quite nice. I ended up eating way too much and left very full and happy. Reasonably priced, nice atmosphere I will definitely be back.”
“Anokha Restaurant in Richmond, Virginia, is a must-try! This hidden gem serves authentic Indian cuisine with amazing flavors and generous portions. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with friendly staff who'll make you feel at home. Must-try dishes include the veggie appetizer sampler, chicken patia, and garlic naan - they're to die for! The lunch specials are a steal, with options starting at $11. Don't miss out on their delicious mango cheesecake. Whether you're a spice lover or prefer milder flavors, Anokha has something for everyone. Five stars and a definite recommendation .. love to come again ♥️♥️”
“I highly recommend going for the lunch special. I spent $16 (before tip) for SO much food. Had no wait for a table when I arrived, and I highly enjoyed the dimmer lighting and calm atmosphere. I ordered the chicken tikka masala which comes with a pot of rice, 4 pieces of naan and dipping sauce. The naan was a little oily, but I do prefer the traditional method without oil. You also get a soup or salad before hand, I got the salad but felt thrown together with random veggies, not my favorite. Everything else was delicious, fluffy seasoned rice and tender chicken! After the meal I received a complimentary fruit pudding dessert which was very good. Service was good nothing outstanding but the lunch price is very much worth visiting for! They have many lunch options and the menu is labeled clearly for dietary restrictions.”
“food was very blend overall hardly any flavor other indian restaurants taste better we make a reservation on resy at the restaurant but still pressure us to eat fast even though their google listing says at 10 pm closing i would recommend other places that allow you to stay longer and actually keep their hours as promise change your listing hours if you cannot open until then overall not a pleasant establishment”
