“We came for Father's Day Dinner. First time... will definitely be back for Brunch as a family. Hubby and I would like to come for Happy Hour. The food was delicious the only critique my husband had was that he does not like cheese sauce on enchiladas it was his own fault for missing that key detail he prefers real cheese shredded instead, we switched plates, other than that everything was great. The cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced. We did not know this place even existed not sure how long they have been open but LOVE IT! We all agreed this place seem like a place you would find in Chicago/NYC ...right here in Mansfield TX. Food 9/10 Cocktails 10/10 Atmosphere and Esthetics 10/10 Dessert 10/10 Overall 10/10”
“Breath of fresh air in downtown Mansfield. It has a high end, elevated aesthetic think dark, elegant cocktail lounge rather than your typical Mexican spot. The Red Chilaquiles are delicious but have a serious kick (go for the green if you don't like spice!). My wife loved the Huevos Divorciados, and my daughters were big fans of the Nutella French Toast and the breakfast burrito. We left very satisfied. The cocktail menu looks incredible we will definitely be back for drinks next time! Between the chic environment and the high quality food, Ilusión is a standout addition to the downtown Mansfield scene.”
“My 1st visit i had a waiter named Trey. He made the experience here so wonderful. Food here is pretty good. Steak & frites was tasty and seasoned so well. Birria tacos are legit. The carne asada fries remind me of San Diego carne asada fries. They fries are crispy and cooked to perfection. Guac had some spice to it and quest dip was good. Churros was so flavorful. Flan is good. Top 3 in DFW for sure. My 2nd visit here i had the Spicy Vodka pasta, Churro French Toast, & the shrimp with the Garlic Blend. The Garlic Blend dish is so dang good. It will transport your taste buds straight to Mexico. The waiter i had my 2nd time was not as great. Menus were left on the table the entire time. Plates were left empty. We barely saw him and had to ask the guy who brought out food to us to tell the waiter what we wanted. Extremely slow service for an empty night.”
“Oh My Gosh!! Tostadas De Atún was star of the experience. I thought it was the appetizer beef empanadas but then entree was served and my taste buds were treated to an abundance of savory bites! Baja shrimp tacos were also very full of flavor but the corn tortilla and shrimp were so good that the aioli sauce took over a bit too much… not a negative just for me I’d prefer on side and add as I go. Very fun vibes! Very fun attention to detail ambiance decor!”
“Our experience wasn't what we expected considering the place was highly recommended. Our server didn't introduce himself. We placed our order. The place wasn't crowded at all and the time it took to get our food was unacceptable. Don't order a Arnold Palmer, it's horrible. I ordered a café de olla, I stirred the coffee and it bubbled up and spilled over the cup, so weird, so glad it happen with the waiter at the table so he saw what happened. He brought me another one. My omelet came, I asked for Pico de gallo and ketchup, by the time he came back my food was lukewarm. My husband also ordered an omelet in addition to his shrimp and grits, however, he didn't his omelet, the server seemed surprised, although we saw him write the order down. Also, they did not serve spoons. There was no salt or pepper on the table, waited another 5-7 minutes for someone to bring that. We were served sourdough toast and when we asked for jelly or jam, we were told they don't serve those items. We had to ask another server for water as she was filling glasses at a table next to us. We were charged for the Arnold Palmer that was sent back, they charged us extra for sourdough toast when it was included with the omelet. The hash browns were undercooked. Our server never came back after bringing the other omelet. I did get his name from the young lady that assisted us. His bame was Adu. We will not go back again.”
