“The food here was a 9 out of 10. I was very pleased how tender the salmon was. I did however, was a tab disappointed in my dessert because it came in such a toddler size portion. It was amazingly good, just not enough to satisfy an adult craving.”
“We had an outstanding experience at Majestic Grille. As someone who needs gluten-free options, I really appreciated that they offer a dedicated gluten-free menu—it made ordering simple and stress-free. Our waiter, Dallas, was fantastic. I had the ribs, and they were absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My girlfriend ordered the burger along with the chopped house salad, and both were just as impressive. Everything came out fresh, well-prepared, and clearly handled with care. It’s not always easy to find places that take gluten-free dining seriously and deliver amazing food, but Majestic Grille nailed both. Highly recommend if you’re in Memphis and looking for a safe, delicious meal”
“The Majestic Grille was an absolute treat. The restaurant is large yet incredibly cozy, with a wonderful old-time charm that immediately sets the mood. Silent movies play on a huge screen, which adds a unique and nostalgic touch—especially fitting since the restaurant is located in a beautifully restored old theater. To make the atmosphere even better, there was an amazing soundtrack of old jazz music playing throughout the evening, which perfectly complemented the setting and really transported you back in time. The food was just as impressive as the ambiance. I had the ribs and my husband ordered the salmon, and both dishes were absolutely delightful. Everything was full of flavor and served in generous portions. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish—we would happily return.”
“Visited with a fellow UK friend and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken curry soup, and calamari. I had been put off calamari years ago, but this was absolutely delicious! The BEST part was the deep fried lemon. It was lightly battered and still had a sourness to it as one would expect from a lemon. There were also lightly battered jalapeños which, although neither of us would choose to snack on jalapeños, we devoured every single one between us. The chicken curry soup was incredible, definitely an award winner IMO. I chose the tuna steak with rice and veggies, and my friend chose a full rack of ribs with fries. The tuna steak was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were seasoned beautifully, and the rice cooked just right with a delicious flavour to it. My friend said that the ribs were very tender, fell off the bone, the fries were well seasoned, and he thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The portion sizes were both more than enough, but we ate until we could eat no more. For dessert, we tried the chocolate pudding and lemon meringue cheesecake. The chocolate pudding was dense and rich, but not too heavy. The lemon meringue cheesecake was absolutely divine. Creamy, lemony, and zesty with a slight tang and a wonderful, slightly crunchy base. Chris was a very attentive and helpful server, especially when we had questions. He also talked easily about our UK heritage, and did a fantastic job of providing information when we needed it, without being pushy. We also appreciated being given time between courses to decide what we would like for the next course. Overall, the recommendation from a friend who is a Memphis native was absolutely spot on. I highly recommend making the Majestic Grille your place to visit, whether it’s for a business dinner, casual meal with a friend/friends, or a date. All seem to be welcome and accommodated. Thank you, Majestic!”
“Reservation & Arrival: Reservations are recommended, particularly for dinner, as the restaurant gets busy. The process was smooth, and we were seated without delay. Valet parking is available for $12, which is convenient. There is also parking directly opposite the restaurant, but it was significantly more expensive at $30, so valet is the more practical option. Ambience & Service: The ambience is elegant and old-school, with a historic charm that fits well with downtown Memphis. Service was attentive and professional without feeling rushed. Staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions. Food: We started with the barbecued grilled oysters, which were a highlight. The oysters were well-cooked, smoky, and flavorful, with a rich barbecue profile that didn’t overpower the natural taste. A great starter for seafood lovers. For the main course, we ordered the harissa grilled chicken. The chicken was tender and well-grilled, with a subtle heat from the harissa that added depth without being too spicy. The flavors were balanced, and the dish felt hearty and satisfying. Overall Experience: Majestic Grille delivers a solid dinner experience with good food, a polished atmosphere, and reliable service. It’s a good choice for a relaxed dinner, special occasion, or when you want to experience a more classic Memphis dining spot”
