We are a Mexican restaurant in Miami Beach, with a traditional flavor thanks to our Grandma, but with the spiciness of a mother's scolding... we combine traditional flavors with modern presentations and practices, to make Abuela's Tacos the perfect place for young and old taco Lovers... We inherited our love for tacos from our grandmother... and we think also for Beer and Tequilas, because here we only drink, eat and have fun... Well, our Grandma says that's the idea of life... Like the Grandma’s taste…but with the spiciness of a mother's scolding
“Actually, I had a reservation at another restaurant for dinner at late hour, so I was just looking for a place to grab a quick appetizer coz I was so hungry. On the way, we saw this beautiful taco spot and the ambiance and outdoor decor immediately caught my attention. Juliana at the stand outside was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She recommended the mahi mahi tacos, and I absolutely loved them. They were incredibly delicious and the sauce was outstanding. The rice and beans on the side were also amazing. Honestly, 10 out of 10. We truly loved this place and are definitely thinking about coming back.”
“We ate outside of the restaurant. Patio area was clean and well kempt. Martin was a great server, gave great recommendations and our food came quickly! Expensive but definitely worth it. All the food was exceptional!”
“The place was really nice, vibes great. We all had tacos that enjoyed. Guacamole was absolutely delicious. I had the tacos al pastor which are delicious too. Franco was our server and served us well. I do have to say service was a tad slow but they seemed busy. A little expensive but that’s Miami Beach for you. Overall a nice stop and would recommend”
“I can see why this is a popular spot because it is festive, cute ambience, and very nice and welcoming service. Based on the reviews, we had high hopes, we are not tourist, and we know a good Americanized Mexican. The margaritas are cheap tequila, inconsistent in preparation. We try passionfruit, mango, watermelon, classic. Each time they came out differently. The second round they stopped, including garnishes. About an hour later I got a massive headache, which never happens. The steak burrito has way too much rice, poor quality steak, needed a salsa or something to accompany it as the chipotle sauce is chipotle mayo and gross. I told the waitress no onions and no pico de gallo as I can’t have onions, but yet it was there, look at the photo. The guacamole Burger is poor quality meat. The chicken enchilada was good, but how can you screw up an enchilada that’s covered in cheese and sauce? The food did not sit well, I’ll spare you the details. This is definitely a tourist trap. If you don’t care about quality, then this place is fine. For me it was not worth the calories or headache after 2 drinks. My bad for choosing spot on Collins. Happy offers BOGO margaritas or mojito, but just skip it and go for a beer in the bottle. Bathrooms are disgusting. You should look at all the five star reviews and actually see where people are visiting from. They probably have never had “Mexican”, or anything borderline festive. There is absolutely no fresh ingredients or anything that is flavorful. When I asked for salsa they brought me ketchup and mustard that was expired, I didn’t know mustard actually expires. If you saw the color that came out of the plastic packet you would’ve been grossed out. Again service is very nice, but super understaffed. One waitress for the entire indoor and patio space. Not enough support staff. Regardless the service was still nice, but the food was just disgusting.”
“🔴🔴 watch for scam🔴🔴 They charged us for a water we did not get! Make sure you are not scammed here! Otherwise it would’ve been 4 stars because the food is good but the waiter is rude”
