Brasserie Porte Rouge is a French restaurant in the Missoula neighborhood of Missoula.
“My partner and I came here for Valentine’s Day dinner to treat ourselves and it did not disappoint. From being greeted at the door, the host was incredibly kind and happy to see us. Our waiter was very polite and efficient and helped recommend the lamb. I wish I remembered his name, we sat at a two top right around the corner from the door at 6:45pm if that helps! We had a delicious bottle of red wine, my partner had the steak frites, and I did go with the lamb. Everything was melt in your mouth and tasted fantastic. After reading other comments from last night, it seems as if they weren’t at the same restaurant- McDonald’s has a drive thru! Overall, incredibly happy to have had a wonderful first experience with this restaurant, everyone who I told I was having dinner there couldn’t rave about it enough and now I understand the hype. I’ll say this is the best restaurant in Missoula.”
“We went here for our 30th anniversary. We wanted someplace special and were delightfully happy about our choice. Our wait person was so nice and friendly. She took the time to explain the menu selection and answered all my wine questions. Upon leaving, we were presented with a beautiful little box of chocolates and a lovely card wishing us happy anniversary. We are sorry we didn’t remember our waitress’s name but you were the best! Thank you”
“First time here and we absolutely loved it! The atmosphere and interior is gorgeous. Great menu selections and mocktails as well. We ordered the mussels, duck, lamb, snickers cake, and souffle. Everything was delicious, fresh, and the perfect portion sizes. Our waitress was kind, friendly, and attentive. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!”
“Came here for Valentine’s Day at the recommendation of my brother and sister in law! Atmosphere is so great! We loved the vibes and it wasn’t a typical dark French restaurant but a fun unique one! We loved the kind hostess and our reservation was actually a little early! I ordered the French onion soup which was divine! Our main meals were the steak frites and the duck bucatini! They were both excellent! Dessert was the star! The red velvet cake was outstanding! A meal for two and dessert was less than 100! Less than I was expecting for the quality ! We can’t wait to come back for our next dinner!”
“Our experience here was very good other than a couple of significant service misses. Our server, Stella was fabulous when taking our orders. Friendly and knowledgeable. The lamb was tender and delicious. The savory bread pudding goes very well with it. Chicken Cordon Bleu was tasty with tender chicken. It could have used more sauce. The couscous side was yummy. We appreciated the compostable to-go containers. While the chocolate soufflé was delicious, the Nanaimo thunder cake was a big disappointment. The crust and middle layers were dry and frozen solid. They were inedible. We had to separate the frozen parts from the cream layers to eat part of the cake. Stella was dropping off the check and asked about the desserts. we let her know that the soufflé was delicious, but showed her that we were not able to eat the layers of the cake because they were frozen solid. Her response was that she would let the kitchen know so that it didn’t happen again. We didn’t say anything, but seriously? We spent $14 on a dessert and can eat less than half of it? In addition, the pour of the dessert wines was pretty short for the price. Finally, we mentioned that our dinner was to celebrate birthdays, and there was no acknowledgment at all of this during our meal. So it seems there are some areas that need attention.”
