Bouillon Albert is a French restaurant in the Montréal neighborhood of Montréal.
“Bouillon Albert is an absolute gen! Warm atmosphere, friendly staff and outstanding French home-style cooking- dishes that are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious! Genuine, carefully prepared food at a surprisingly affordable price, even more budget-friendly than most chain restaurants. If you are looking for an authentic French dining experience in Montreal, this is a must. Highly recommended!”
“We had an absolutely great dinner. If we weren’t here for such a short period we would certainly be back to try some more! The food, cocktails and wine were delicious. The staff were easily able to accommodate my gluten free partner. We sat at the bar and our bartender was lovely.”
“Authentic French food and lived up to its expectations! Service was very kind and friendly. I personally have never been to Paris France before but I have seen these things online overseas, i feel like this restaurant will help you feeling not-left-out if you crave what is on the menu. I had a glass of rosé which wasn’t the best glass of wine ever, but nonetheless good. The beef tartare was on point, very well presented and yummy in flavour. I also recommend the escargot and if you want extra bread and butter, it’s no extra cost. The servers will gladly assist you with a second round or so. The hanger steak frites also hit the nail on the head, cooked to medium. Was well on point. The green sauce for the steak reminded me of the viral video of the Parisian resto where they had the AYCE steak&frites in paris and replicated the same, looking the same. Thanks for making this in Montreal, Bouillon Albert! The rice pudding for dessert was very very hearty and a bit heavy but was worth a try. My dinner was delicious. I’ve been to Chez Alexandre in Downtown MTL and I personally find BOUILLON ALBERT to be more affordable and better in quality food”
“Albert The ambiance here is great, well-lit, nice atmosphere, and overall really beautiful. Definitely a spot I’d suggest for a romantic date. Service was good too, with a friendly waitress who kept our water perfectly cold and refilled often enough. Food: Green salad – 9.2. Small, but really yummy and fresh. Escargot – 10. Absolutely perfect, so garlicky and flavorful, no bad comments at all. I was obsessed and could’ve eaten 100 more. Bread & butter – Bread was tasty, though I wish they served more than 4 pieces. The butter was salty and delicious. Fries – Good fries, and the sauces for both the fries and the steak were a 10/10. Steak – Unfortunately, this was the big letdown. I asked for medium rare, but it came out much closer to rare. It was chewy, hard to cut, and just had an unpleasant feel in the mouth the undercooked parts and overall unpleasant. Steak is my favorite food, but I could barely eat this one. The few bites that were well-cooked were good, but the cut itself wasn’t ideal. Overall I’d give the steak a 6. Overall: The ambiance was perfect and the service was solid. Besides the disappointing steak, everything else was really enjoyable. I’d definitely come back here, just wouldn’t order the steak again. I’d love to try their other dishes instead.”
“Atmosphere, service, decoration, everything was nice and perfect. The issue was the food…We almost ordered every item from the menu (see photos). Lobster bisque and onion soup were too salty, beef tartare didn’t taste anything, all the fish (aile de raie et truite a l’oseille) were cook in probably a brick of butter (way too much), the maquereau au vin blanc was tasteless, fries were not even as good as McDonalds fries and the mayo was sour. The mille feuille dessert is really bad, the cream tasted like a diluted herb and milk mixture…The profiteroles au chocolat and creme caramel were good…It was very disappointing and the bill was 515$. However, the staff were very nice and professional.”
