We serve simple rustic Italian dishes in an intimate dining room with Old-World Italian decor. Established in 1999. Started by Chef Dan Maggipinto, Caffé Nonna was one of the first chef-owned restaurants in Nashville. It is the only restaurant of it's style in the city.
“Not cheap but the food was excellent. My favorite dish was mix and match, and I made it with gnochi, pesto sauce, pancetta, pecorino, amd capers - this was one of the best pastas I've ever had. Also good were the tango mussels and squash dish. Good meal, nice atmosphere, pricey bill.”
“Wonderful dining experience for myself and my daughter who has celiac. Byron our waiter was so helpful assuring us what gluten free options were available. We enjoyed heirloom carrots and vegetarian bruschetta on gf bread then gf penne with pesto sauce and the other had gf penne with sun dried tomato sauce and shrimp. We were assured the pasta was cooked in water separately from regular pasta. We savored every bite and highly recommend this lovely restaurant- we will definitely be back!!”
“Caffe Nonna was absolutely Phenomenal. We visited for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and I am pleased to say that we will be returning. The vibe, the atmosphere, the FOOD, everything about this place was perfect. The food was to die for. True authentic Italian food for sure. We also loved the fact that the owner himself made it a point to come by and meet everyone that was there. It doesn't get much better than that!”
“We visited Caffe Donna on Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint. Making reservations was a breeze. We were warmly greeted at our 1:30 reservation time by our wonderful hostess who had the cutest shoes on and were promptly seated. Scanning the menu we discovered it has a nice selection of small plates, generous wine list, salads, and main courses. The live music outside made it extra cozy. We chose the Heirloom Carrots & Arancini for the small plates and split a Caesar salad. Main courses were the Lasagna Bolognese & Short Rib Ragu. Our expectations were exceeded. The food was scrumptious and the portions were generous. Our servers made sure to check on us throughout the dining experience. We look forward to going back soon to try other offerings.”
“This may have been the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The staff was so incredibly friendly, and the owner, Will, made every diner feel like they were the most important person in the room. The food was incredible and very authentic. 10/10 recommend! I only wish I lived in this city so I could come here all the time.”
