“First off I would like to thank the amazing and wonderful manager Dawndria for going above and beyond. She was super sweet and kind to me and my friend. Because of her I will 100% be back when I'm in the area. As for the food the burgers was cooked the way I asked, the bacon was really good, but the Mac n cheese wasn't my favorite. It's just not type of cheese blend that I like, besides that it was good. The server kept up with our drinks, was super nice. It was an overall great experience. Would definitely recommend”
“We’ve always enjoyed great service here, but tonight fell well below expectations. Ethan, our server, was pleasant, but he barely checked on us, and only after prompting. We had no drink refills, no appetizer plates, no drink napkins.. We ended up having to flag down another server twice just to get basic items. At a $100+ price point, the service should be significantly better.”
“On 6/17 I took my family of 5 to celery wife’s birthday. We went early (5 pm) to avoid a crowd. All tables behind the hostesses desk were empty so I thought we had timed it just tight. We were told by the hostesses that there was a 2 hour wait. In retrospec, because of the odd number of our group a 2 hour wait was there way of telling us to get lost. I.was embarrassed and humiliated for my wife who had looked so forward to this celebration of her 71 first birthday. It ruined her day.”
“I went for my 24th birthday and I was left feeling like I did not come to celebrate anything. The first few who greeted me were so kind and amazing. They asked whose birthday it was and then specifically told me happy birthday. The restaurant was clean and looked great but my overall experience was very saddening. I love J Alexander’s, it has been one of my favorite place for so long. Which adds to why I am upset about the first bad experience I’ve had at any of the multiple locations that I have frequented. The server we had was very dull. There was no excitement in his whole body. Not to mention I was not once told happy birthday by him. My friend had to call him over so we could order every step of our meal. She was basically doing his job for him. Him never initiated anything. He talked and interacted with the table behind us and they finished there food at one point and he still talked to them more. And to mention that he gave us dirty app. plates, did not prebus the table, and he put the boxed up leftovers on the floor! I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or assumed that we are bad tippers since the whole table was African American. I honestly wish for a do over because that really put a damper on my birthday celebration. The food was alright. Mostly it was missing flavor. Everything was brought out cold and on the drier side.”
“I’ll start with this is my family’s go to place for birthday dinners we’ve literally had about 2 dozen birthday celebrations here so we’re regular regulars. Tonight we had a reservation for 8:00 specifically for a dining room table. Upon arrival the hostess took us to the bar area to which I said our reservation is a dining room table she immediately got an attitude and said well it going to be 10 minutes mind you there’s open tables all over the place with capacity for 3 but we waited. After nearly 10 minutes a guy asked us to follow him he took us to our table and said “your server Landon will be with you in a second” 20 minutes later Landon never came over to greet us another server walked over and said I’m not sure where your server is but I’ll get your drinks until he comes over. Guy brought the drinks 10 more minutes later Landon arrived took our order and walked away. At this time a group of 5 gentleman were seated behind us 20 minutes later they were receiving their food while my table had nothing 10 minutes later the manager walked up I explained the situation to him and he gave a condescending apology and said yes this is unacceptable but we’re short staffed my kids ordered chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich and I a prime rib there’s no way 5 huge steaks and baked potatoes took less time to make than what we ordered due to you being short handed. The manager brought the food out 10 minutes later and offered to buy a dessert for the table which I turned down before realizing that the plate he bought me was not what I had ordered. I told him it was wrong but don’t bring me anything else because I’m good. Landon comes back and says I hope yall enjoy the free food we’re taking care of…. I literally wanted to tell him to shove the food but I refrained. Long story short 13th birthday dinner was ruined and we’re removing this restaurant from our list of favorites. Never will the White Bridge Road location ever get another dollar from me. Fire Landon and that rude hostess!”
