3rd Block Depot is a Cajun restaurant in the French Quarter neighborhood of New Orleans.
“Perfection. This restaurant is part of l’Hotel de la Post. We came here three times during our stay in New Orleans because it had such high-quality food and great service, not to mention the best Americano outside of Europe. We loved the 3B breakfast, with home fries, sunny side up eggs, and alligator sausage (I didn’t get if this was gluten-free but felt fine after eating it three days in a row). Their fruit cups have only the best fruit. We were served by Katonya two of our three visits and she was incredible. This place should be lined up the block and somehow it’s not… skip the waits at the other places and come here for much better food!”
“With all the famous places to visit in New Orleans, I could see where people would walk right by this little place and not think about it but if you skip it, you are missing out! All the servers were great, but Anthony was, especially, a gem! The food was phenomenal. Highly recommend!!”
“We had an excellent lunch at 3rd Block Depot! Our waitress Katonya was fabulous. Her bubbly personality made our dining experience superb! We had the yummy Croque Madame & delicious Caesar salad. Our beignets were the best I ever ate. When I return to NOLA, I am definitely coming back at the 3rd Block Depot & asking for Katonya as my waitress.”
“It was cute inside. It was our first time here. We were wondering around the streets looking for a place and came across this one. It wasn’t busy at the time. We had the short ribs, chicken pasta, and the seafood pasta. Everything was great. I got a drink and it was delicious. I ask for recommendations and the waiter did not disappoint.”
“place was super empty on mardi gras which was the first sign of trouble - that’s on me though. there’s a huge sign on the street advertising happy hour which is why we came in. we sit down (it’s SO empty), and ask the waitress if we can order for happy hour as we entered 1 minute after it started. she says yes. she does not give us happy hour menus making us feel like she didn’t want us to order off of it. we ask for happy hour items….she very slowly lists off just 2 things. there’s no way hh has only 2 items. (that are horrible deals which is fine. maybe this place is expensive?) however, looking at the regular menu a beer is $7-$10. she says hh beer is $9. weird if true. we also came here specifically for the char broiled oysters - she says they’re not doing them. why are they on the menu? so we have to divert and choose something we don’t really want. there’s a popcorn machine up front so while we wait for our food we get some - there’s no signage on it saying it’s not free. as we’re getting some, we’re scolded that it costs money but they say we can have it for free because we already took it. that’s nice i guess. the waitress comes back after a minute and says the glasses of wine for happy hour we ordered SPECIFICALLY are actually moot and they’re not doing happy hour whatsoever. so we’re now forced to order off the regular menu. point is, this place is clearly failing and for obvious reasons. they’re desperate for money, have horrible service, and LIE to get people through the door. hard pass next time. edit: the gumbo was the worst i’ve ever had which is sad that it’s in nola. it was GRAY!”
