“We enjoyed our last night in NOLA having dinner at the Beggar’s banquet. Every dish was delicious! We had the cauliflower Sriracha, mushroom, gnocchi, pan-seared red fish, brussels sprouts, and to top it off, espresso crème brûlée for dessert…yummy. Every dish was delicious and a good portion size. Definitely worth visiting!!”
“Beggars Banquet was a quiet restaurant tucked away in teh Garden District of NOLA. It was reachable on the cable car line. This is a small venue so reservations are probably necessary, especially on Jazz Fest weekend. Our party of three all had different meals, each outstanding! The duck confit had a crispy perfectly cooked skin with yummy flavor that matched well with the butternut squash side dish; just wished there had been a little more duck to enjoy. The braised ribs had a wonderful flavor with a sauce that blended well with the potatoes. But the Gnocchi was the true gem. The truffle creme sauce over the mushrooms was absolute melt in your mouth. We were too full for desert, but I am sure that woudl have been delicious as well. Defintely worth it.”
“Our 3rd visit to Beggars Banquet and I forget how good the food is here. An excellent team in the kitchen. Its not a big place and gets pretty noisy due to poor acoustics typical in NOLA. Perhaps people are just having a good time. Always enjoy our meals here at Beggars Banquet.”
“So happy we came here for our last night in New Orleans! The reviews don’t lie this is a great place with amazing food!! Fav was for sure the short ribs. 100% get that. And the praline bread pudding dessert was out of this world!!! Serving sizes were also HUGE a lot bigger than I expected! Service was great and very very quick!”
“Everyone at our table really enjoyed the fries—both the hand-cut fries and the truffle fries. The steak was slightly overcooked for medium, but it was still flavorful and tender. The presentation of both the steak and the short ribs was delightful. The short ribs were extremely tender, though I found them just a bit lacking in flavor. The staff was hospitable and helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I do wish I could have tried the duck confit, but the sauce was prepared with bacon.”
