As an Italian restaurant we cook elegant, rustic, honest food that brings back traditional, nostalgic flavors, and also new inspired dishes from places we love. We base our menu on local and seasonal ingredients often coming from upstate farms and the local green markets. Our wine list is comprised fully of natural wines - not to be trendy but because these low/no intervention methods have been practiced by generations throughout Italy and other parts of the world, yielding wines that put the grape center stage, that are super drinkable, and that pair well with our menu. The spirits program highlights minority/BIPOC owned brands, driven by seasonality. The restaurant reflects our food; our guests, welcomed by friendly and warm service, will find themselves in a cozy environment as if they were in the home of good friend. Our goal at Aita is to create for you a moment of sharing, of emotion, and of memory but most importantly - to see a smile on your face. We are open for both indoor (table & bar seating) and heated outdoor dining (booths in our gazebo). We only hold a handful of tables for walk-ins at a first-come, first-served basis. Hot tip: come right when doors open or later in the evening for your best shot.

Helmed by industry veterans (formerly Fiore, Union Square Café, Craftbar, Jean Georges, and Happy Cooking Hospitality), Aita has been serving authentic regional Italian fare and natural wine since May 2012. Featured as one of the Best Aperitivo Bars in NYC – and home of the beloved Oxtail Burger and famous Oxtail Ravioli – you can easily find yourself becoming a regular in this cozy, intimate corner spot inspired by places and people we love. Don't forget to check out our small cocktail bar next door called Mayflower, named after the flower symbolizing hope and new beginnings. We hold a handful of tables and bar seats for walk-ins at a first-come, first-served basis.
