Helmed by industry veterans (formerly Fiore, Union Square Café, Craftbar, Jean Georges, and Happy Cooking Hospitality), Aita has been serving authentic regional Italian fare and natural wine since May 2012. Featured as one of the Best Aperitivo Bars in NYC – and home of the beloved Oxtail Burger and famous Oxtail Ravioli – you can easily find yourself becoming a regular in this cozy, intimate corner spot inspired by places and people we love. Don't forget to check out our small cocktail bar next door called Mayflower, named after the flower symbolizing hope and new beginnings. We hold a handful of tables and bar seats for walk-ins at a first-come, first-served basis. Sorry, we do not honor reservations made for "drinks only" or "dessert only" but you are always welcome to stop by and check our availability! Hot tip: come right when doors open or later in the evening for your best shot.
“If I could give, I would give 10 stars just for the service I had from Barryl. I love good service. I've actually come to admire and respect it like the art form it is. She truly made my night. She was perfectly attentive and professional while cracking me up and every table I heard her speaking to. She was effortless. She made me feel great. I just moved down the street and now plan to be back regularly because of the experience I had here. Not to mention the food was wonderful and I got to sit in the perfect table outside in the sun on a perfect Summer night. Happy to have found a new home away from our new home, and excited to try the rest of the menu. Ask for Barryl the next time you go and listen to her recommendations.”
“Aita is exactly what you want in a neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food is incredible, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is intimate and beautiful. They have bar seating and table seating. We used to order the oxtail ravioli for delivery and finally came to the actual restaurant- so worth it!! The bread basket with olives was so good- a super chewy and yummy sourdough with a light and fluffy seasoned focaccia. The burrata had tons of amazing flavors all combining to be such a delicious bite. The oxtail ravioli was perfection as always: it literally melts in your mouth (get the fresh parmesan shredded on it table side, it really takes it up a notch!). The tiramisu was classic and lovely with a great cup of espresso to end the evening. We couldn’t have had better service and we can’t wait to come back!”
“Loved this restaurant. We sat outside and it was very pleasant. They have an Apperitivo hour. With the Cocktails you get some small bites. We got Croquetas, Olives and small Bruschetta. We ordered their Beet salad which was good and Oxtail Ravioli which was delicious. The Cocktails are tasty. The service is wonderful. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the area. Inside it's small but cozy. At the same location they have a Cocktail Bar called Mayflower, which we intend to check out next time we go.”
“Fantastic meal - service could have been better. We arrived early for our reservation and were told the table wasn’t ready yet (totally understandable, we sat at the bar) but had to wait 10 minutes past our reservation time with no explanation. The staff didn’t check in with us at all during that time and barely checked in with us during the meal.”
“Cute neighborhood restaurant in a nice location. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, and the service is good. I liked the food, although I didn’t love the steak. I found it mediocre but loved the potato’s hash it was served with. I really liked the virgin pina colada!”
