“Three of us went for lunch to celebrate two birthdays. The restaurant was full of mostly business looking people and we got a nice table in the middle. Humus to start. Entrees were lobster and pasta, branzino and lamb sausage. All were delicious.”

“Everything about this experience at Avra was exceptional. We started with the grilled octopus and halloumi, both were absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For our mains, the swordfish and shrimp were just as impressive. Fresh, perfectly prepared, and truly memorable. The service was just as amazing as the food. “We had a special Valentine’s Day dinner and couldn’t be happier. We were greeted with a long stem rose and every thing that followed was just as thoughtful. The food was abundant starting with a complimentary dish of hummus olives and peppers along with bread and pita wedges and incredibly delicious olive oil. Both of us had fish for dinner— perfectly prepared and freshly-imported whole fish was available too. The service was excellent and Tatiana was particularly great, pleasant and attentive and encouraged us to take our time and enjoy the evening. A definite must place for excellent hospitality and Greek food in NYC!”

“We had a good time at Avra yesterday. The food was excellent. The server was very friendly. It was very busy and there was a bit of a delay on a second glass of wine. The restaurant is very busy, very large, very crowded, hence lacking some intimacy, even though we were in the (better) backroom. The food is great though.”
