“Some restaurants are consistently great, and Avra Rockefeller Plaza is one of them. The food hits every single time, but this visit was on another level. Our host gave us the full dining experience, walking us through incredible recommendations and perfectly pairing each course with the right drinks. What impressed me most was that he actually stopped us from over-ordering, saying he wanted every dish he recommended to be remembered rather than lost in a table full of food. That kind of confidence, honesty, and hospitality is rare. Combined with the outstanding food and beautiful atmosphere, it made for one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. Hands down, one of the best experiences from start to finish. 🍽️🥂”

“Avra was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in quite some time. The atmosphere is considered and elegant, the staff attentive and precise, and the food truly memorable. They offer mocktails, but I ordered a simple mix of fresh grapefruit juice with seltzer and lime—it was exceptional. The grapefruit tasted freshly pressed, and paired beautifully with the Greek salad, where the tomatoes and green peppers had a level of freshness that felt almost outside of America. Experiences like this—whether meals, art, or concerts—stay with you. An afternoon at Avra is transportive in that way, and one that lingers long after you leave. Highly recommended.”

“I recently went for lunch at Avra after attending Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and it was a wonderful experience. I opted for the three-course lunch menu and enjoyed it tremendously. I started with the tomato and feta salad, which was perfectly dressed. The tomatoes were beautifully ripe and paired wonderfully with the feta. For the main course, I had the lavraki, which is one of my favorite fish and something I’ve had many times before. The preparation here was absolutely fabulous - simple, fresh, and perfectly executed. For dessert, I finished with a small piece of baklava, which was a lovely and satisfying end to the meal. Overall, it was a great value with phenomenal service at the bar and a great ambiance. I will definitely be back.”

“My 9 year old daughter and I had dinner for her birthday and we were sat in a cozy corner table looking out at Radio City. We had mocktails, shrimp cocktail, steak and fish for dinner. Then the olive cake for dessert. Lovely atmosphere and great service.”
