Baylander Steel Beach is located on the deck of Baylander IX-514, which served in the Vietnam War and is now docked at West Harlem Piers, on 125th Street on the Hudson River.
“Was recommended this semi hidden gem on the water. It was the perfect place for a night out with a friend or a date! The food was delish, the drinks were strong and you can tell the employees love their job. Everyone from the kitchen staff to the bartenders had warm smiles and were eager to help. The views are beautiful and I would 10/10 recommend! The ramp leading to the ship is a lil choppy due to the water so prepare yourself if you are someone who experiences motion sickness.”
“Was here for a private event. Food was all plant-based and incredible! Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Great service. And of course very cool that it’s a boat!”
“5 beers/seltzers for $25!! great deal for a boat in nyc. food was so delicious, especially the calamari. it was a little windy when we came but I still had a great time. bartenders so friendly. will definitely come again!!”
“This is a beautiful spot to get drinks and food with friends. This is was my second time going here. The first time I came for a birthday party while this time it was just a get-together with friends. The scenery is amazing. The food and drink options are also pretty good. You don't have to worry about splitting checks if you don't want to because everyone can order their food and drinks separately and bring them back to the table. My party of 3 did a walk-in on a busy Saturday afternoon and was seated within 10 minutes. Reservations are not required but I would definitely recommend making one if coming in the evening on a weekend because a lot of private events happen. The Saturday we went they closed at 6pm for a private event. So it's good to know if the place is open or how many seats are available. Overall would definitely recommend to stop by with friends for drinks and good vibes this summer.”
“EDIT: Check your credit card statement! An 18% mystery charge was added after the initial purchase though one was not authorized when payment was made. Contacted establishment via email as there’s no phone number listed and never received a response. Former “World’s Smallest Aircraft Carrier” turned outdoor bar and grill. Amazing views, good menu. The shrimp tacos were delicious, but very small. The sweet potato fries were good and a nice portion. Casual, cool vibe—but a bit too loud.”
