“Finally got around to visiting this location after eyeing it for maybe two years after having a wonderful brunch at the Brooklyn location. This one also did not disappoint! The adjaruli khachapuri was heavenly — I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to finish it since I also ordered the wild mushrooms with eggs and potatoes, but finish it I did! Then the mushrooms with eggs and potatoes came out — thankfully it was not too big, because I slightly struggled to finish it. It was also fantastic dish, so I was determined to finish :) Finally the cinnamon walnut latte was also delicious. Couldn’t really ask for a better lunch during a cool wet afternoon. After this second time having Georgian food, I’m starting to get the idea — might be too small a sample size but whatevs — that a lot of it is quite rich and creamy, which is typically not my style, but somehow I find it wonderful and worth the calories 😂”
“I don’t usually think to go for Georgian food but this place changed that! Great dining experience with friendly service, and the food was fantastic! The Adjaruli Khachapuri (cheese boat) is a must! Get one for the table to share since it’s pretty heavy. The khinkali dumplings were another tasty starter. The freshly baked bread complemented the Saperavi and Pomegranate Beef Stew really well. The beef was so tender, you could cut it with a spoon. Flavor was on point. I loved it! If you want to shake it up from your usual cuisines, I definitely recommend Chama Mama.”
“First time trying out Georgian cuisine & it was such a positive experience! Everything we had was so delicious. The khachapuri was just the right amount of cheesy, the bread so soft & flavors not too heavy at all. Just LOOK at that cheese pull! Our server mixed it to perfection :) Although I don’t have a picture, the lamb dumplings were amazing! Finished too quick to snap a pic. Soup dumplings with a Georgian flair! Trust me, get them!! The kebabs were also not your typical meat on a stick presentation. We had paired it together with their crispy smashed potatoes & wow!!! So delicious and filling. Had such a fun time eating here and would recommend anyone to come try too :) Now our bill was a little steep, but not for nothing we had ordered a lot of food and drinks for 2 people. We wanted to try whatever we could!”
“I had never tried Georgian cuisine before, and I was pleasantly surprised by the incredible flavors in every dish. The appetizers — the Adjaruli Khachapuri and the fresh bread — were a perfect start to the meal. For the main course, we ordered the stew, which was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and full of flavor, and the cheesy potatoes were rich and comforting. The service was warm and welcoming, and the staff happily explained Georgian dining traditions when we asked questions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful night out, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.”
“I like Georgian food, so I decided to try Chama Mama for dinner. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was friendly and attentive. We ordered Georgian salad, lamb khinkali, crispy smashed potatoes with tkemali, lamb chops, and chicken mtsvadi. The khinkali were a bit mediocre — I’ve had better at other Georgian restaurants. Portions also felt a little small for the price. The Kindzmarauli wine paired nicely with the meat, and we finished with a Napoleon dessert, which was very good. Overall, the food was somewhat mediocre. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really stand out.”
