Continent Brooklyn is a Caribbean-Asian fusion restaurant that celebrates the Caribbean's diverse cultures and influences and its unique identity as its own "continent." The 110-seat culinary-driven destination lies at the heart of the borough's most beloved food scene with an ultra-chic ambiance and magnetic atmosphere. Located on the ground floor of Hotel Indigo Williamsburg, the 3,000+ sq ft. bi-level space features a main dining floor with two-story floor-to-ceiling windows, a mezzanine dining floor, two full-service bars, a garden courtyard, and a bi-level private terrace. After establishing a continued presence in Atlanta, Georgia, and opening the original Continent Restaurant and Cigar Lounge there, renowned Chef Scotley Innis brings back his New York City origins to celebrate the bold energy of Brooklyn. A culinary journey infused with inventive flavors inspired by Chef Innis’ Jamaican roots and co-owner Aliya Huey's Asian-African heritage, the menu brings international, ingredient-driven cooking to the forefront. Dishes are inspired by Caribbean culture and cut across borders like the Chinese-Jamaican-inspired Oxtail Lo Mein and Tamarind Wings, West African-inspired Suya Lamb Chops, Pan-seared Chilean Salmon served with callaloo gnocchi, and a 34 oz. jerk-rubbed Tomahawk Steak. Continent Brooklyn's memorable cocktail menu takes guests around the globe, with exotic ingredients offering new takes on the classics and inventive new imbibing options like the Continent Punch served in a coconut shell with a flaming lime, and the Stush Martini served with a flower-infused ice ball. Designed to feel intimate yet vibrant, Continent Brooklyn features a palette of gray and blue velvet banquettes and black dining tables, all accented by eye-catching decor. In the rear dining area, a towering custom mural painted by local artist Jermaine Percey Neal features dozens of abstract faces in bold colors and strokes, evocative of Brooklyn's diverse and dynamic cultural fabric.
“From the moment we walked in, this Jamaican cuisine restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful—welcoming, vibrant, and full of life. The staff was friendly, professional, and extremely attentive without ever being overbearing. On top of that, the music was perfectly curated—exactly the kind of vibes my friends and I love, which made the entire evening feel even more special. Now let’s talk about the food. We ordered the oxtail fried rice, the oxtail lo mein, and the lamb chops—and every single dish exceeded expectations. The flavors were rich, perfectly seasoned, and clearly prepared with care and intention. Each bite somehow got better than the last. To say we were satisfied with our restaurant choice would be a massive understatement. The entire experience—from ambiance to service to food—was a solid 15/10. I don’t even live in NYC, but I’m already making plans to come back, preferably in warmer weather, just so I can experience this restaurant all over again. Absolutely worth it.”
“We celebrated my mother’s 75th birthday with 40 guests at this chic restaurant back in April, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. I cannot stop thinking about how special this was for my mom. From start to finish, everything was seamless, and that was largely thanks to Kiara, the restaurant's event director. She was incredibly attentive, warm, and made sure every detail was just perfect. The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, the DJ was amazing and all of our guests felt truly special. I can’t recommend this place enough for any milestone celebration. Huge thanks to the entire team and especially to Kiara for making it a night to remember!”
“I had such high hopes for this restaurant- having seen reviews and videos on social media. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was very friendly in showing me where the restaurant was. I was a bit early for my reservation so I waited in the lobby until my friend arrived so that we could be seated together. Note: reservations were for 5:30pm, we were some Of the first people to be seated. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess was friendly. She showed us to our seat and shortly after the server came over to take our drink order. We both ordered the lychee drink which was pretty ok. The server came back about 10 mins later to take our order, my friend order the chicken and I ordered the oxtail lo mein. We received our food at the same time - my friend's chicken was hot and my food was cold, the flavor was lacking - I did not like it. After about 20 mins the server came over asked if everything is ok and I told her my food was cold and she offered to switch it out. I received the chicken dish about 10 Mins later - only to discover a piece of hair in my salad. At this point — the serve and back staff seemed like they wanted us to leave because the server had dropped the bill at our table without us asking for It. At this point it was around 7:30 and the restaurant was still pretty empty. When the server picked up the check we asked why we were being rushed out- she said they needed the space and at this point it was apparent that she was annoyed with us. Had it not been for cold dish, hair in my food , and rush to leave I would’ve given a better review because the atmosphere is nice. I will not recommend coming here for a sit down dinner because you will be allotted 2 hrs and rushed to leave out.”
“The atmosphere was decent but the restaurant itself was small. I had the oxtail lo mein which was quite disappointing. Also had oxtail fried rice which tasted raw and unsatisfying. I've had better Jamaican food at local restaurants. The price of the food is not worth the taste of the food. Very disappointed overall and it was my birthday dinner.”
“The food was very good. The look, the smell, taste. All what was expected. Well balanced seasonings to please everyone. Sizable portions also. That’s where it ended 😔 The service sucked. From the greeter to our waitress. Attitude and body language screamed “I don’t want to be here” and that flowed over into the service. (I guess they don’t have to try when gratuity is included in every check) Ordered appetizers and was immediately asked for the entree. I pointed out that I don’t want the entree to come out at the same time. I was assured that it will not happen like that. Here comes the appetizers. Looking good. Smelling good. Took a bite… tasting good. 3 bites in… here comes the entree. Unacceptable! Atmosphere got 2 stars because it was cold and even tho they had space heaters it was cold 🥶 Kudos to Ashley. She did her best to save the night. Absolutely wonderful work”
