Offering cocktails and elevated bar bites with top-notch service, Dear Irving Gramercy takes you on a time-travel experience behind the glittering beads of the 1920s to the posh, pink tufted couches of the 1700s. Brought to you by YJR Group (The Raines Law Room, Dear Irving on Hudson), our original Dear Irving location can be found just off Union Square at 55 Irving Place.
“Yet another find from Drink Like a Local. And like another place I had just visited if you didn't know it was there you would walk right past it. Walk in and it very warm and cozy, perfect date night or if you just wanted to relax by yourself and unwind. Very nice selection of cocktails and the Croque Mr. Irvings were so good I had to have two orders. Can't wait to go back.”
“This is a proper NYC cocktail bar. We went here before dinner and it’s truly amazing. Ambiance is dark, seductive, and romantic. Drinks were spot on and the small plates were great. Try the caesar salad bites, they are out of this world. They make a great Old Fashion. Definitely a place to go!”
“Probably the coolest bar I’ve been to in Manhattan. The cocktails were amazing, the vibe was so sick. Great soundtrack inside I’m not sure if it’s employees or a curated playlist but it hit. The service was stellar. You have a little buzzer and the second after you hit it they are at the table and willing to offer cocktail recommendations. The Cottage Collin’s is the best take on a Tom Collin’s I’ve ever had and I’ve been around a few. Make reservations for a cool date night or a friends tap session!”
“The sophisticated, dimly lit interiors with plush seating create a romantic and intimate atmosphere. I tried several creative cocktails and really enjoyed the seasonal options. The small bites were tasty, although the portions were small. The service was attentive. It got busier later, but it still felt comfortable. Expect to spend about $35-50 per person. This is a great upscale spot near Gramercy Park.”
“We visited Dear Irving for what it’s known best—cocktails. Tucked away in the heart of Gramercy, this bar has that timeless, speakeasy charm. The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in a moody, vintage atmosphere—dim lights, plush seating, and a quiet mist of elegance in the air. It feels cinematic, in the best way. Cocktails are crafted and well-balanced, with a menu that blends classic sophistication with creative flair. You can tell the bartenders know their craft. As for the food, it’s decent—nothing memorable, but that’s not really why you come here. Service could be a touch more polished—faster, more graceful, and a bit more attentive—but the overall vibe makes up for it. This is a place for lingering conversations, intimate dates, or a relaxed evening with close friends. Dear Irving is exactly what you’d expect from a classic Gramercy cocktail bar: stylish, low-key, and effortlessly cool. A staple spot for a good drink in a great neighborhood”
