“Loved everything about this place. Gee was so welcoming and his recommendations were so useful. Food was great and the spice was just the right amount. Would definitely recommend coming here. Their cocktail and mocktail options are so good. Had the Silk Sipper (mocktail) cause I was driving, and it was the right amount of a sweet and sour combo. Love this place so much, will be coming back!”
“Went in for mother’s day dinner with my mom and the rest of my family. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating to our party, and my mom was so pleased with the food and especially the service. Sophia, Haley, and Jose were so kind and welcoming. The drinks were great and the staff recommendations for the table were perfect. And did I say the food was DELICIOUS? I loved the Eggplant and the dry pot - those glass noodles with all the toppings omg. Thank you MaLa Project for a great mother’s day!!”
“Visited here for lunch with family. We had prior reservations. We ordered veg and non veg spicy dry bowls, waffle fries, spicy peanuts and dessert. Waffle fries and peanuts were great. Dry bowls were awesome. Dry bowls come with shareable qualities. Overall great dining experience. Highly recommend this place.”
“Anytime my friends and I go out to eat, someone in the chat brings up Mala Project and we end up there in Greenpoint every single time! It’s our absolute favorite restaurant in New York. The food is amazing and we love that you can choose your spice level and cater to so many dietary restrictions, so our vegetarian friends can make their own amazing drypot. Love the scallion pancakes and the “little spicy” sauce- so good with the fish filet and boy choi! The seaweed fish fritters are also so crispy and delicious. The cocktails are a great addition to balance out the meal. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t like there. Highly recommend going for a birthday, since they have a delicious birthday treat. It’s also a beautifully decorated space that is bigger than you think- check out the back room. Make sure to take a pic in the old-school black and white Photo Booth too! The service is so friendly and the staff genuinely treat you like old friends- shoutout to Ryan and Sofia for being so amazing! We love Mala Project”
“Greenpoint has not many authentic Chinese restaurants, MáLà is definitely one. I like their dry pot, you can choose your own ingredients and the level of spicy, they prepare it for you. Depending on how many items you like to put in, it could be enough for 2-3 people. Another item I want to recommend is Beijing ChǎoBǐng, it is a dish from Beijing region and mixed with Chinese pancake slices, veggies, and pork or beef. It is hard to find in restaurants in nyc but Mala Project has it and it tastes amazingly.”
