“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Market Table has been on Carmine Street since 2007 and there is a reason this place has never needed to reinvent itself — it just gets it right, every single time. From the moment you walk in, the room does something to you. Window seats overlooking the West Village, terracotta pots, candlelight even at lunch, a neighborhood buzzing outside the glass. It feels like New York the way New York is supposed to feel. We ordered through the all-day menu and every single dish came out more impressive than the last. The heirloom tomato salad with cucumber, olives and a green herb dressing sounds simple and looks like art. The nori dish is quietly one of the most elegant things I’ve eaten in this city. The fish over summer corn was perfectly executed — charred skin, sweet vegetables, clean and confident. Then came the chicken. Get the chicken. Crispy skin that shatters, pea risotto underneath, a rich jus pooling around it — this is Chef Mike Price doing what he does best, letting the season speak and not overcomplicating a single thing. It is the kind of dish that makes you put your phone down. Two desserts to finish by candlelight. Both necessary. No regrets. The service is warm without being performative. The cocktail list is considered. The wine list has real personality. And the all-day format means there is genuinely no wrong time to come. If you have been walking past this place for years without going in, stop doing that. Market Table is the real thing.”

“My associate and I were there for a business meeting. The service was very good and quick, we got some appetizers to share for the whole table and then a full main course for each one of us. The filet mignon was very good and also the porterhouse pork chop. Very generous plates. Located in a wonderful neighborhood. Easy to walk.”

“Great spot with big windows and awesome people watching. The location is perfect and the service was fast without feeling rushed. The burger was amazing. The bacon was perfectly crispy and the fries were well seasoned and super satisfying. We started with the banana bread which was such a nice way to kick things off. My partner ordered the pancakes with the cheesecake filling and absolutely loved them. Overall a really great meal in a great location. Would definitely come back.”

“We had dinner to celebrate 2025 Mother’s Day . Great food, warm atmosphere and attentive staff. We had 4 small vegetable dishes as starters ( forgot to take photos ). By the time we remembered to take photos, they were all gone! So delicious! We ordered pork, chicken and steak as main courses. Love every one of them. The dessert looks good but we were so full…… next time !”

“We went there to celebrate Mother’s Day, and it was an absolutely disappointing experience from beginning to end. We arrived at 10:15 AM, right at the time of our reservation, and were immediately told to wait because they were “fixing” our table, which apparently needed repair. A few minutes later, we were told our table was downstairs. It took us less than two seconds to walk back upstairs. They had placed a few tables in what felt like a smelly, dungeon-like area underneath the restaurant and genuinely expected people to dine there just to squeeze in a few more covers and make extra money. Eventually, they seated the three of us at a tiny table for two right next to the host stand. Given that it was Mother’s Day and nearly every restaurant in Manhattan was fully booked, we unfortunately had no real option but to stay. Then came the service. Nobody came to take our order for at least 15 minutes until I personally had to ask someone to come over. One hour after arriving, we still had not received even our starters. When the starters finally arrived, they were incorrect. At that point, I spoke to one of the hosts and explained how extremely disappointing and unacceptable the entire experience had been. It was around 11:30 AM by the time we were finally served our starters. Incredible, right? I ordered a salmon bruschetta-type appetizer and a medium-well burger. The starter was nothing memorable, and the burger arrived rare. The fries were among the greasiest and most oily fries I’ve had in a long time , I barely touched them. For context, this was their Mother’s Day brunch prix fixe menu priced at $48 per person. It was very obvious we were not the only table waiting excessively long for food. The restaurant clearly did not have the staffing capacity to handle a brunch service of this scale, yet they were charging nearly $50 per person for below-average food and service that was honestly a 2/10. To their credit, they removed one person’s charge from the bill, but by then the damage had already been done. Never again.”
