Masquerade is a natural wine and cocktail bar offering seasonal Persian shared plates. We focus on slow food methods that highlight local farmers and partners, a rotating wine selection, and nightly vinyl music.
“Great food and cocktails, really nice atmosphere with well curated music. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Went for a last minute dinner as a group of 4. Seating was not a problem. But the place felt busy /lively. Very nice place to put you in the mood for holiday season.”
“This is such a hidden gem in the neighborhood. So glad we went there with our friends and we loved every dish. Never knew there is Persian tapas. The food was flavorful, right portioned and we left full, and already thinking when we're going back to try more dishes. Their backyard was beautiful.”
“If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Brooklyn, look no further than Masquerade. Tucked away on a quiet street—just two blocks from the iconic Peter Luger—this restaurant is a masterclass in atmosphere. From the moment you step into the long, narrow space, illuminated by the sparkling light of a disco ball, the scent of gorgeous, exotic spices lets you know you’re in for something special. The culinary experience was equally impressive. We started our evening with a round of drinks: the Spicy Basil Margaritas had the perfect kick, and the Dirty Celery Martini was a refreshing, savory twist. To eat, we shared the Barbari Bread and the Borani, followed by a delicious Manti beef appetizer and the fresh, flavorful snapper. Everything was executed beautifully. We finished the night with a fun, sweet touch of "roulette" for dessert, which was the perfect end to a memorable family meal. Masquerade manages to be both chic and comforting, making it a fantastic addition to the neighborhood scene. If you appreciate great food in an environment that feels like a well-kept secret, this is an absolute must-visit.”
“The restaurant space is very homey with a tasteful mix of Iranian and non-iranian music and we liked it. The Barbari bread was well baked but unfortunately way too salty that my dining partner and I while having enjoyed its texture couldn't finish. Zeytoon Parvardeh is a signature appetizer in Persian cuisine with olives, pomegranate sauce and walnuts being their main ingredients. Unfortunately there were only hints of walnuts and pomegranate sauce in what we had (sure there were actual pomegranate seeds - but that doesn't do), and in my opinion what we had was nothing close to Zeytoon-parvardeh. Kashk-e-bademjoon was pretty good and we enjoyed it. Tahchin could pass as a very good rice with rice cake (Tahdig). All in all, it was a fine experience, but the food didn't stand out.”
“Atmosphere is vibey and the staff was lovely. The food is not authentic Iranian and it’s overpriced. We felt ripped off given the small portions and fairly standard burger. We would recommend the duck - it was tasty, but pricey for the size. It also took a long time for our mains and cocktails to arrive.”
