“NUBIANI” refers to meat prepared directly over an open flame. As nomadic people in ancient times, Koreans were highly skilled in cooking meat using a fire pit, the earliest form of barbeque. Using primitive and simple methods to bring out the beauty of the natural flavors of meat with minimal seasoning. Since then, grilling meat on an open flame has developed into a culinary art form in Korea. Located in the heart of Manhattan, NUBIANI is now open with a goal of further developing the transcendent culinary Korean culture of grilling meat. Introducing the finest flavors from grilling over an open flame, to the world.
“We loved our experience at Nubiani. This is classic KBBQ. The accoutrement and the mains were all amazing. Our favorite was the marinated short rib, but everything was phenomenal. The service was noticeably great, too. Everything had just the right spice level, and it was a really outstanding meal. Would absolutely recommend and return!”
“Nubiani is a premium Korean BBQ restaurant in Koreatown, and it operates at a level that is noticeably different from most of what the neighborhood offers. The space is well designed, the kind of room that feels intentional from the lighting down to the table setup, and the ventilation is genuinely excellent. You will not leave smelling like smoke, which is not something you can say about most places in this category. The format here is tableside cooking handled entirely by a dedicated chef, which changes the experience considerably. The meats come out properly and in the right sequence, and having someone manage the grill means nothing gets overcooked or neglected while you are distracted by conversation. The Nubiani Package is the standard way to go and covers a solid range of cuts. Meat quality is high across the board, well-marbled, fresh, and the kind of thing that reminds you why you are paying what you are paying. The banchan selection is generous and well-prepared, and the egg soufflé that comes as part of the meal is high quality dish. Service throughout is attentive in a way that never feels intrusive. Banchan gets replenished without you having to ask, the pacing moves at a comfortable rate, and the staff seem genuinely familiar with the menu and how the meal is supposed to flow. There is a time limit on the reservation, which is standard for the format, so it is worth knowing going in. Reservations through Resy are essentially required, and they will not seat your party until everyone has arrived, so plan for that. For the quality of the meat, the service, and the overall experience, it justifies what it charges.”
“I highly recommend Nubiani to anyone looking for an exceptional Korean dining experience in New York. Everything about our visit was outstandingthe food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their attention to detail truly made our dining experience memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, with high-quality ingredients and beautifully prepared dishes. The restaurant itself has a warm, elegant atmosphere that is perfect for both family gatherings and special occasions. What impressed me the most was the level of hospitality. Genuine, attentive service like this is hard to find, and the team at Nubiani made us feel valued from the moment we walked in. If you’re visiting New York and looking for amazing Korean food, Nubiani is a must-visit. Great food, beautiful ambiance, and top-notch service. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Came here for lunch on the weekend and it wasn't too packed around 12:30. We had a reservation so there was no wait to be seated. Ordered the large beef package for 4 people and also the squid and beef pancakes. I was impressed with the banchan spread and the quality of the beef. Service was fine and they grilled the beef to perfection. The soufflé egg, soy bean paste soup were great sides and very tasty. I found the seasoned meats to be my favorite and most flavorful. Everything was fresh including all the greens to wrap the beef with. The squid and beef pancake was delicious and I liked how it was small size so you could pretty much eat it in two bites. The dessert was also really tasty and refreshing to end the meal. It came up to be about 80$ per person which is a bit on the pricier side but well worth it for the quality of what you get. I would definitely recommend this place. The only side note is that they did rush us a bit towards the end even though there were plenty of tables. I imagine it will be even more rushed if we came for dinner.”
“The atmosphere here is wonderful, but the service is what truly stands out, they are incredibly attentive and keep the appetizers flowing. One of the biggest wins is the ventilation; unlike most Korean BBQ spots, you won't leave smelling like smoke. They also cook the food for you, ensuring a level of quality and precision that most DIY BBQ places lack. To top it all off, the meal ends with a delicious orange-syrup ice cream (with real orange pieces!), and it’s all-you-can-eat. Pro-tip: The location is a bit tucked away on the second floor. Don’t get discouraged if you feel lost—just ask the lobby attendant for directions. Also, keep in mind this is a reservation-only spot!”
