Nura is a restaurant in Greenpoint that serves Indian inspired cuisine alongside unique drinks in a bight and lively space.
“Our wedding was at Nura, and I truly don’t believe there’s another venue out there that could’ve checked all our boxes or provided a better experience than they did. It was absolutely phenomenal. My wife and I had always wanted to get married in Brooklyn (we live in Greenpoint, have generally lived in Brooklyn for 10 years) in a non-venue-venue, which we found to be tough with larger families. Admittedly Nura was always our top choice because we’d been there several times for brunch/dinner, and thank the lord they came through with availability. Nura’s event planner, Mel, was with us every step of the way to accommodate the 110 person guest list, which to that point was the most they’d ever had, plus an 8-piece band, which was the biggest they ever had. She was amazing, as was Ana, as was Soli, all the way from our initial meet-and-greet, to rolling out the red carpet for us on the tasting, to the big day. The 360-bar was perfect, and nobody was waiting for a drink all night. As expected from the restaurant, service was outstanding, and food was some of the best food we’ve ever had at a wedding. We received many compliments from people saying exactly that. We had our ceremony there, too, which was expertly choreographed in a way that blended traditional with a warmth and coziness that felt perfect to us. Again, as we look back, the overlap of our wedding venn diagram was very difficult to nail—it was hard for us to even envision what it would be—and I honestly don’t know if there’s another venue out there that could’ve done it, or done it as well as Nura did. We are so grateful to their staff for making it a reality!”
“We had our wedding at Nura and it was the most incredible night! We live in Greenpoint and have eaten dinner and brunch there multiple times, but to host our wedding there was beyond my wildest dreams. We wanted a non-cookie-cutter wedding that still had elements of tradition and Nura’s event planner, Mel, worked with us to bring our vision to life. During the planning process, they were so easy to work with, and it was seamless every step of the way. Skip to the big day and it was the most beautiful space, full of sunlight, greenery, and the most amazing food and beverage service. We had 110 people for the ceremony and reception, and the transition of the space was seamless. No one ever waited more than two minutes for a drink at the bar, and the food was coursed so perfectly all night long. We did not want a sit-down dinner, but we wanted our guests to be full and satiated with their amazing food. We have received so many compliments on the insanely amazing food and so many people have said, “I’ve never had food that good at a wedding before!” My compliments of the staff are endlessly positive and I can’t thank them enough for being the perfect hosts for our big day. We can’t wait to be back for dinner again soon!”
“I recently went back to Nura after not visiting for a couple of years, and it’s still such a beautiful spot. The ambience is warm, cozy, with a great bar area. Drinks were pretty good, the service was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a bit mixed this time. The brussels sprouts and spicy dates weren’t my favorite, but the naan and dip are delicious (we had the green chili hummus and yogurt cremini mushroom oil).”
“Warm and welcoming service. Many dishes offer a unique twist on traditionally Indian flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed the dips, naan, and mussels. The prawns and black bass while well prepared, were slightly overcooked. Overall a great spot.”
“we were very excited to try this place! overall lovely ambiance and tasty food, our server was very kind. the reason for the low rating is we were told the kitchen would course our meal (totally fine), but the bread was brought out 20 minutes before any of our dishes with dips (brussels, sweet potatoes, octopus), so it was cold by the time we were eating it, and we only had half by the time our dishes arrived since we were nibbling in our wait. we were told the dishes would be coursed and to choose items with sauces already provided and supplement with full dips if we wanted, so we assumed the bread and veggie dishes w/ sauce would come out together. for that reason alone, would not recommend unfortunately, as we weren’t able to fully enjoy the meal. the fluke ceviche, naan, roti, brussel sprouts, and japanese sweet potatoes had great taste. mushrooms did not have enough crema and were too salty although they were highly recommendeded.”
