“We had a fantastic time at The Nines. My boyfriend and I had reservations for our anniversary, and when we showed up we were greeted by a wonderful hostess who wished us a happy anniversary. We were seated quickly and were even treated to complimentary glasses of champagne, so sweet! Our drinks were delicious and so was our food. We had the club, fries, and mousse for desert. The band was super talented and we loved the live music. It was a wonderful time and we will definitely be back again!”
“Hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to in NYC! If you can get in, absolutely sit at the bar. Manny, Paul, and the rest of the guys behind the bar made it one of the best nights! Super funny and personable, we had laughs the whole time.i can’t thank them enough! The atmosphere is stunning. It’s exactly what I would want for a date night or jazz club night! The entertainment was top tier. Most importantly though, the burger was seriously incredible! I know most wouldn’t think upscale restaurant let’s get a burger, but give it a try. This Nines has been added to our must stops when we’re in town!”
“What a lovely piano bar. Went here in fall of 2024. The amosphere is dark and moody and I loved all the red. Daniel, the piano player that night was amazing. He took a request for an obscure David Bowie song and played it so well. The food was enjoyable and the manager was so accomodating as we didn't have reservations and he moved things around to get us a nice place to sit. I think its a great place to take people visiting from out of town.”
“Recently visited the Nines with high expectations, especially looking forward to a true dinner-and-jazz experience. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t quite match what we had anticipated. While the interior is absolutely beautiful and the staff were warm, attentive, and professional, the core concept fell short for us. We were expecting live jazz or at least jazz-style music, but instead heard piano versions of pop songs, which was quite disappointing and not aligned with the atmosphere we were hoping for. In terms of food and drinks, they were decent but not particularly memorable in comparison with Deux Chats. The menu also felt more like appetizer-style offerings rather than a dinner experience, which added to the disconnect from the “dinner and jazz” concept. Overall, the space and service are strong, but we believe the music direction and culinary experience could be improved to better match the expectations set by the concept.”
“A mixed experience at The Nines. The setting, décor and cocktails are beautiful, and we were very happy to have a front-row table. The musicians were talented, but the live performance lacked authenticity. Food-wise, my burger was very dry, although my partner’s duck was apparently delicious. Service was average — not very warm and quite rushed. Overall, it feels overpriced for what it offers and would benefit from more attention to detail and quality.”
