Our approachable American menu spans from raw bar, to artichoke dip, roasted half chicken, and grilled bar steak. We’re a neighborhood joint with delicious food, fun cocktails, and a lively bar. Walter’s is a place to relax and share great memories with friends, and family.
“From front to back of the house, service was excellent and cuisine consistent with Walter’s long standing reputation as one of Fort Greene’s best places to dash in last minute or reserve ahead of time for a wonderful experience. Menu is quality, and cocktails…one of the best programs we’ve seen in a long time, refreshing 100!!”
“Tonight I finally met my girls at Walter’s—a place that had come highly recommended by both of them, though it was my very first visit. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt seamless. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, which set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. We kicked things off with drinks, and every choice was a winner. The Prosecco was crisp and refreshing, the Penicillin was perfectly balanced, and the Manhattan was smooth and classic—an excellent way to start the night. For appetizers, we shared the wild oysters and deviled eggs, and both were absolute hits. The oysters were some of the freshest and best I’ve ever had in New York. The mignonette sauce was incredible, and the other two sauce options were just as impressive—I honestly could have eaten raw oysters all night. When it came time for our main courses, the food continued to impress. Everything on the menu sounded tempting. My friends opted for the steak and frites and truly enjoyed every bite. I chose the Caesar salad with added salmon, which was cooked to perfection—crispy skin and all—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Beyond the food, the ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a great night out. The waitstaff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive, which elevated the entire experience even more. I absolutely loved this place and will most definitely be back.”
“Just revisited this spot for daytime lunch and outdoor seating. Service was great. Saigon chicken sandwich and Fiddlehead IPA were a great combo. Lightly dressed but flavorful salad. Juicy chicken, toasted yet soft baguette, good slaw. Great experience.”
“If you’re looking for a solid spot for a comfort food night, this is it. It’s a small restaurant in Brooklyn that’s clearly a local favorite—it’s always busy, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The menu is full of those reliable dishes that never really miss. We went with: -Steak & Fries: The steak was great, and the fries were exactly how they should be—thin, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. -Green Salad with Grilled Chicken: We added chicken to the green salad, and it was a generous portion. Fresh and satisfying. Don't come here expecting groundbreaking or experimental flavors; it’s not the kind of food that’s going to "surprise" you. Instead, it’s traditional, consistent, and dependable. The portions are hearty, the quality is solid, and it’s just a great, no-fuss meal.”
“Granted, we got one of the simpler items on the menu and the picture is from a shared plate with my son, but we got the Soft Scramble which is grilled sourdough, smoked salmon, soft scrambled eggs, parmesan, and hash browns, but from a place like Walter’s I’d expect it to be livened up a little bit. It felt like it was the bare minimum put on somewhat soggy sourdough. No seasoning, no sauce on the side or on it, nothing special at all - for a $22 price point. I’d say their service and ambience was awesome but for how good it looks from the outside I’d expect more than what I got which was the ingredients with nothing else.”
