“Boullion! What an absolute gem of a French restaurant tucked away on the border of Newport Beach and Irvine. In a time when so many dining experiences feel overly commercialized and predictable, this place is a refreshing reminder of what genuine hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and independent restaurant ownership are all about. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed into an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere that perfectly balances sophistication with warmth. The attention to detail was evident throughout the entire experience, making it clear that this restaurant takes great pride in every aspect of what it does. For my entrée, I ordered the Entrecôte steak cooked medium-rare, and it was nothing short of perfection. The steak arrived exactly at the requested temperature—beautifully seared on the outside while remaining tender, juicy, and flavorful on the inside. Every bite showcased the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the kitchen. Accompanying the steak was a fresh, well-dressed salad and what can only be described as proper French fries—crispy, golden, and irresistibly delicious. Together, they created a classic French dining experience that was both satisfying and memorable. To finish the meal, I enjoyed a single shot of espresso. Simple, rich, and perfectly prepared, it was the ideal ending to an outstanding dinner. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the service. My server, Seda, was absolutely magnificent. Her knowledge of the menu was extensive, and she was able to answer every question with confidence and enthusiasm. She provided thoughtful recommendations and made me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my visit. Most impressively, she checked on me several times after the food was served, ensuring everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. That level of attentiveness is becoming increasingly rare, and it made a tremendous difference in my overall experience. This restaurant represents everything I love about independent dining establishments. There is a passion here that simply cannot be replicated by large corporate restaurant chains. The food is prepared with care, the service comes from the heart, and the entire experience feels authentic. For food lovers who appreciate quality ingredients, expertly executed French cuisine, and sincere hospitality, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. It is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can still be a special occasion. I left thoroughly impressed, completely satisfied, and already looking forward to my next visit. “My family lived in Paris for a while, so we absolutely love French food. Lately, we’ve been obsessed with this place called Bouillon Newport—it's the authentic French bistro in OC. The overall restaurant design replicates the classic Parisian Bouillon style. From what the staff told us, all the dishes are made with fresh ingredients purchased daily, prepared on the spot, and they sell out once they're gone! That's why they're known as "the Best Traditional French Restaurant in OC." 👍 The service is also incredibly thoughtful, genuine, and welcoming. Everyone on staff speaks French. This time we tried the Confit de Canard (tender and juicy), Escargots, Leg de Lapin, Beef Bourguignon (the tagliatelle it came with was so flavorful), Steak Frites (served with either pepper sauce or Bearnaise sauce), and the Salmon. Everything was delicious! Even the pre-service bread 🥖 was amazing. The prices are really reasonable too. Five of us dined for $185, which offers great value for money.”
