“Stopped by for dinner on a Monday night. Took my son who is a picky eater and he loved everything we had. We started with the house cut fries with truffle aioli. They were hot and well seasoned, and definitely a generous portion. My kid went through 4 containers of aioli. Then we had the crispy spiced chicken wings, which were in fact perfectly crispy, well seasoned and paired with an awesome tamarind sauce. We finished off with a pepperoni pizza, perfect crust, tasty sauce and a good amount of pepperoni and basil. Hats off to Chef James and his team for the great food. My son and I definitely did a happy dance with each bite. The drinks were tasty as well. I had a regular margarita and a delicious mezcal based margarita, I can't remember the name of it. Bartender Aaron and our server Reily went above in beyond in making sure we had everything we needed. It was a fantastic experience and will absolutely be coming back again and recommending the place to friends and family.”

“Tucked away in Old Downtown Oakland, this fantastic spot perfectly captures a classic-meets-modern vibe, blending traditional pub charm with a wonderfully chill atmosphere. The service is consistently outstanding—attentive, fast, and genuinely welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food is great, and you definitely have to try the cocktails—the bartender Aaron makes an absolutely mean margarita! The only reason I can't give it a perfect five stars is that their draft beer is sometimes served a bit warm. If they could just dial in those tap temperatures for a cold pour, it would be a flawless experience, but it's still a highly recommended go-to!”

“Great place, 1 of my FAVS but the Cigar smokers are killing the vibe. Though they are outside, all the smoke comes inside the building in which there is no adequate airflow. Who wants to eat in a smoked filled space? Not me. Hopefully management can figure out a solution. 💞🙂”

“Nice vibe in the downtown Oakland area. We came in for dinner on a Saturday evening. The space is dark with high open ceiling and a large U shaped bar that appears to be a big draw. There were a couple good sized parties on one side when we came in. They seated us at one of the high tops on the other side. Seating is pretty equally low tops and high tops here, plus the bar. Our server was ok. Nothing spectacular, but got the job done. We appreciate that in this particular economy, District offers a dinner for 2 for $35 at this time. We had the arugula salad, lamb meatballs, and then a pizza. It was all good but be needed to add another small plate of the arancini to fill us up.”

“This review is for the Oakland airport location. The only words I can use to describe the service here is criminally horrific. Donita B and the other woman behind the bar treated us like trash. Rude beyond description. We waited for 20 minutes to order food and by the time they came to us the breakfast menu cutoff time had past be 10 minutes. When we expressed our disappointment, the aggressive vitriol and open hostility and malice just started getting revved up. The situation turned so ugly we had to just return the non-breakfast item we ordered and walk out. Both women made a point of loudly dissing us in front of all the other patrons as of to punish us for being upset. It was a nightmare. Truly awful. I'm shook and my partner was brought to tears from the godawful mistreatment. I'm sorry to have to leave such a negative review but this should never ever happen in this country.”
