“So much fun!! Went 2/18. Slow night- bar was empty. Bar back and bartender were super engaging and suggested beers…gave us samples to try and suggested beer to go with our dinner choices. Food was amazing- best French onion soup I’ve ever had. Baked feta and broccoli appetizer was awesome!! I’ll be back for sure.”
“Great service and phenomenal cocktails. Great beer selection. Beau and Jack are the best bar-keeps around. Made me one of the best cocktails I've ever had accompanied with funny banter. Order the Sazerac. I will be back soon! Keep it up, fellas”
“Jack was our server, he was fantastic! Food was really good. French onion soup was hot, cheesy and had a nice base. The onion to broth ratio was good! :) Beet Salad was the hit! Red and Golden beets, apples, feta (we switched from blue) and a great dressing. Super crisp, fresh and eaten quickly. Grilled cheese on Challah was nice and crisp, buttery and the cheese was gooey. Cheese to bread ratio was off, Challah was thick, they needed a couple slices of cheddar to round it out. Overall, it was solid as a meal for the $. (My wife hated the bathroom....)”
“This was our second visit to the Hayes where I left disappointed. We ate here years ago, I vaguely recalled service was slow but we decided to give it another chance for a pre theatre dinner. Nothing has changed. It took awhile for someone to take our orders, then took even longer for our salad and sandwiches to arrive. The restaurant was less than half full so they didn't seem overwhelmed, just slow. The roast pork sandwich was very salty. The fries were not worth the $2 upcharge. The salad was small and the grilled chicken add on was over cooked and rubbery. Overall the food was average at best.”
“Had a reservation but unfortunately weren’t able to eat here. The place was so severely understaffed that when we finally spoke to a staff member, they explained the situation. Apparently the reservation info does not make it to the actual restaurant. They had no visibility whatsoever which leaves it impossible for them to prepare. We visited another restaurant by this same group (to my knowledge) l nearby, and the situation was the same. I feel terrible for the staff members-they’re in an awful situation. It’s not their fault. Management/ownership needs to get their house in order.”
