G-Love is an American restaurant in the Slabtown neighborhood of Portland.
“Wow- where to start! I love that they’ve turned the outside into an eating sanctuary with heaters as an option. I’ve now visited twice with my friends and both times were filled with immaculate customer service. I’m gluten free and both waiters took the time to mark up the menu for me and that was such a great touch. The steak dish (lookup) is packed with flavor and so tasty. We had the x cocktail and it also was so fun and felt light on the tummy. Last visit we decided to do a few share plates and that was also a great decision. Our waiter even brought out the cute gluten free churros for the win.”
“We happened on the new brunch service at G Love, and it was delicious! We got 4 plates to share: the falafel waffle (so moist and amazing), the breakfast sandwich (amazing flavors in each bite), pavlova ( I can’t even…it was soooo good), and shakshuka (omg this was insane). There were 2 of us and we probably got one too many dishes but it was all so very tasty. We sat at the chef table and it was fun to watch them prepare different dishes. Service was really great, I can’t wait to go back and eat all the things again.”
“G-Love in Slabtown continues to be one of our absolute favorites in Portland. The new menu is incredible. The apple salad is always my go-to and somehow gets better every time, and the tuna with avocado is something I genuinely dream about. Everything feels fresh, thoughtful, and perfectly balanced. Chef Garrett is doing an incredible job and you can really feel the care and creativity behind the food. The entire space has this timeless, welcoming energy that makes it feel like a true neighborhood classic and a place you always want to return to. Their NA drinks are also the best in Portland hands down. We’re especially excited that they’re opening for brunch and cannot wait to come back and experience it. G-Love is one of those places we know we’ll keep returning to all year.”
“The staff is awesome. Very welcoming, efficient and had some great advice during my cocktail dilemma.... The First Lady (had Campari) or The Robyn (had Cynar). Went with their suggestion and did The Robyn. I think it might be my new favorite cocktail. The menu had so many good choices, it was hard to pick so we went with the each-person-select-twoish-items for a family-style share meal (more good advice!). We ate the Crunchmaster Crisp, Carrots + Citrus, Grilled Rapini, Fried Chicken, Ravioli Francobolli, Black Cod Almondine, Fingerling Potatoes, Spoonful of Smores. I'd be willing to eat any of them again, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Crunchmaster Crisp. It had an amazing flavor profile (fresh/nutty/light sweetness/earthy/etc) and excellent mix of textures from the crunchy shallots to the leafy herbs to the charred cabbage.... A close second was the Ravioli Francobolli with it's perfectly cooked pasta and sauce level. The earthiness of the mushrooms and tanginess of the Robiola La Tur was so flipping good. While it didn't happen on this visit, I am definitely plotting a return trip so I can order The Crusty Avocado. The peeks I got of the half avocado fully covered in a white/black seed mix topped with fresh ahi tuna traveling to other tables was legit drool worthy.”
“I came here for a year end dinner with some friends. The place was pretty busy and made me forget that it was a Sunday winter night. We ordered the family style menu, where the chef decides what we get. It was an easy decision for us as we didn't want to think. The food came out pretty quick and was excellent. I really enjoyed the fingerling potatoes, ensalata bomba, and the grilled bavette. The drinks were also pretty good and interesting especially the Goldie Hawn - cheerio infused whiskey, coconut water, vanilla, and sesame. Overall, a great experience with friends.”
