“Went to Coastal Cookery last night and had a great evening. The food was solid and the atmosphere was exactly what you expect from the place, lively, comfortable, and a good spot to settle in for a night out. But the real standout of the night was our server, Ricky. Ricky absolutely made the experience. She was attentive without hovering, energetic, playful, and clearly loves what she’s doing. She kept us in the loop on everything happening around the restaurant, checked in at the right moments, and brought a fun, welcoming vibe to the whole table. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work, and it really shows. Great service like that elevates the entire night, and Ricky did exactly that for us. If you’re lucky enough to have Ricky as your server, you’re in very good hands. Erika & Nick”

“Wow! What an experience. It was worth the wait - we are from the mainland and we’re just looking for a good place to eat with our kids. This was one of the best places for dinner - the beef carpaccio, squid, sushi tacos - AMAZING. Our waiter JF was beyond accommodating to our requests and so sweet! Definitely recommend coming here ❤️”

“We had lunch today during our overnight visit to Powell River. It was truly delicious. I had the veggie burger which I highly recommend. The salad and fries were great as accompaniments. We shared the homemade hummus and everyone else had wings which they raved about, we always stop in when we come here. Never disappointed! Thank you.”

“There's nothing that really separates this place from other places in town for the atmosphere, it's nice, don't get me wrong. The patio is ocean view, however it's on a back alley so you get a lot of ambient noise of trucks unloading cargo and such, not the worst experience ever though. It was fairly busy and not enough staff apparently for the amount of people, things we slow even to get seated initially, they were all very polite and apologetic for the inconvenience. The food was extremely quick to come out though! like we were shocked actually. And WOW we were impressed right to the last bite. My wife even went so far as to say that it may have been the best burger she had ever had...EVER? apparently so! I would venture to guess we caught them on a lunch rush and would like to come here again, besides the lull in service everything was great!”

“As someone who grew up in Powell River when dining options were few, and fine dining was almost nonexistent, it is nice to return home and visit good rooms like Coastal Cookery. Great views and a uniquely decorated restaurant. Service was great and dinner was excellent. I particularly liked the salad and the apple dessert.”
