“Being from out of town, this is our second visit to this restaurant. Excellent in all aspects of a dining experience, except that we have over eaten 😃 To start with, their salsa is thick authentic, not watered down. Chips tasty. The nachos are arranged on individual large chips, each with its full complement of all ingredients. Not the typical pile on chips in a dish and just sprinkle all toppings, where you end up with some toppings and boring dry chips at the bottom. You have different types of Chile. Being vegetarian I had relleno and Vegetarian with white sauce, very different and tasty. The salad was significant with very generous slices of avocado and tomato. Vegetarian rice and beans served. We had a large family gathering. Two other groups had birthday celebration. This is one of the interesting serenade by the staff. Song accompanied by an acoustic guitar and a sombrero for the birthday baby. I am tempted to ask for the same, on next visit 😉 All in all a fun dinner experience.”

“If you’re looking for real, authentic pizza in San Francisco, this is it. Gialina is not a touristy spot. It’s a true local favorite tucked away in Glen Park, and honestly, that’s what makes it special. The vibe is cozy, casual, and very neighborhood-driven. The pizza is wood-fired and perfectly executed. The crust has that ideal balance — crispy on the outside, chewy inside. The Margherita was simple but incredibly flavorful, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. I also tried the Soppressata, which had a nice spicy kick and was just as impressive. Service was friendly and relaxed, not overly formal but welcoming. It feels like a place locals come back to again and again. Prices are reasonable by San Francisco standards, especially considering the quality. ⚠️ Be prepared for a wait during peak hours, and parking in the area isn’t the easiest. “The pizza was excellent, and the service was great. My kids (ages 11 and 21) loved it. My one small complaint was the $20 per person cancellation policy, which applies if you cancel after 11:00 AM on the day of your reservation. We were a party of only four. I do recommend a reservation anyway.”

“It's been years since I last tried Gialina and I'm so happy that it's still around, still cooking, still having the pizza oven red hot and delivers simple but consistent quality food. We had only three dishes, a Caesar salad, a cucumber salad and a pie and of course a glass of wine. I personally think that Gialina makes one of the best pizza doughs in SF. It's crunchy, super thin and perfectly balanced with the toppings. It's simple but spot on. The Caesar salad with white anchovies is delicious and gets your taste buds fire up for the pie to follow.
