“This is the place to come for sablefish and sunsets. My first time having sablefish (black cod) was at Ray's over 25 years ago. It became my favorite fish. I've been back to Ray's off and on over the years, and my most recent visit was perfect. Ray's menu rotates seasonally, but there are always one or two sablefish selections on the menu. Get the "house smoked" option. The accouterments will vary with the seasons, but the fish itself is incredible. For dessert, get the chocolate cheesecake. It is a huge, rich portion. It was borderline too much for my party of three. I am not a huge dessert guy and I loved that it was not too sweet. The wait staff has always been super personable and attentive, as is expected with this caliber of restaurant.”
“These photos and review refer to collaborating with them for events. Yesterday I was the coordinator and officiant for a wedding in their Northwest room which is a dedicated event space WITH a dedicated kitchen strictly for events. The London broil and the salmon was perfection. I really love collaborating with Rays. For the regular restaurant there is a more casual establishment upstairs and the more fine dining is downstairs.”
“If you love seafood, this is the spot! Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious, and the presentation made each dish feel extra special. We had the perfect spot by the windows, watching the sun set while enjoying our dinner. The signature sablefish dish was packed with flavor, I didn’t leave a single bite behind. The scallop and pork belly appetizer was just as impressive, and the chocolate cheesecake was rich, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal. Next time I’m back in Seattle, I’ll definitely be going back to Ray’s!”
“What an experience! Absolutely incredible dining experience. A friend recommended Ray’s Boathouse, and it ended up being one of the best meals I’ve had this year. We were seated at a beautiful table by the water, and the whole atmosphere was special, elegant decor, candlelight, and an amazing view that made the evening feel memorable from the start. Everything we ordered was excellent. The Velvety Bourbon cocktail was fantastic, and the appetizers, especially the tuna tartare and oysters, were outstanding. The oysters were unbelievably fresh and buttery. But the highlight of the night was the James Beard Award-winning sablefish, which our server recommended. It was extraordinary, easily one of the best sablefish I’ve had. Perfectly cooked, so soft and flavorful, and it paired beautifully with the pistachio. This is the kind of meal you keep thinking about after you leave. I can still remember how good that fish tasted. If I lived on the West Coast, I would come here often. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in Seattle. Highly recommend.”
“It’s a beautiful restaurant by the water. The ambience is lovely. The wine collection is excellent. We had fish entrees which were good but I wish it had more flavour. I have had better seafood so it’s just personal opinion. The pistachio icecream had a strong artificial smell and the crème brûlée was ordinary.”
