“My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Sado, and it was one of the finest sushi experiences we’ve ever had. As someone who grew up in Southern California eating excellent sushi, and who has also enjoyed outstanding sushi in San Francisco, Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, I don’t hand out praise lightly when it comes to sushi. Sado exceeded every expectation. We chose to sit at the sushi bar and put ourselves entirely in the hands of the chef and our server, allowing them to select our dishes throughout the evening. Every single round was outstanding. Not only was the fish incredibly fresh, but each piece was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Our waiter explained that the fish is never frozen, which means the menu is influenced by what can be flown in and sourced at the highest quality. That commitment to freshness was evident in every bite. The cocktails were fantastic, the sake flight was expertly curated, and both complemented the meal perfectly. Just as impressive as the food was the service. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable dining experience. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable, making it an ideal setting for a special occasion. Is Sado inexpensive? No. But show me a truly great sushi restaurant that is. It can’t be cheap to fly in fish of this quality on a daily basis, and after experiencing the meal firsthand, the value was easy to appreciate. I’ve had sushi in some of the world’s most respected sushi destinations, and Sado belongs in the conversation as a serious sushi restaurant. I highly recommend it, and in my opinion, you simply won’t find better sushi in St. Louis.”

“We sat at the sushi bar and had a great time. The chefs were focused when working but spoke generously about the food when they were in between dishes. They were a wealth of knowledge! We ordered omakase and all of our preferences were met and expectations exceeded. I’ve been looking for a favorite sushi spot in STL and I think I just found it!”

“Make a reservation for 5pm when they open. Take advantage of the happy hour Wagyu, there are limited portions so you will need to be there early. Fantastic sushi! The omakase was great. We gave a price point and some general direction and they did the rest. Nailed it! The blue fin toro was one of the favorites for sure. As an addition note, they add gratuity to the bill. For a party of 2 this would normally piss me off. The service was so good though that we tipped extra on top. Top notch service.”

“Made a reservation for 5pm and people were already lining up, so i highly recommend a reservation. But i can see why everyone was here, the food was delicious and our server Elyse was excellent! We ordered the Omakase and a special sashimi/Nigiri sampler of sorts! The timing on the food was perfect and every bite packed with flavor! The gyoza were soooo yummy with that crispy lattice on top, the grilled hamachi collarbone, the crispy brussels sprouts, all the different samples of fish were like butter melting in your mouth. And the special dessert was this gorgeous little matcha/sesame/blackberry frozen custard masterpiece that we gobbled up. highly recommend. We found free parallel street parking a block down from the resturant.”

“The restaurant is beautiful and pleasant. The service was impeccable. The menu is diverse with great options. Everything we ordered was super fresh and very tasty! I have nothing but praise for the savory dishes—they were incredible! I must confess I had high expectations for the only chocolate dessert option; it looked beautiful, but to my palate, it was tasteless. The ice creams were delicious, though! I’ll definitely be back for the main menu.”
