“Within 2 minutes of sitting down, I understood this place is highly rated. The space, the energy, the staff, the menu — this place was on a different level. We started with a dozen oysters, a mix of Wellfleet, Rappahannock, and Apalachicola, and they were exactly what you want from a serious oyster program. Briny, sweet, clean, every variety hitting a slightly different note. Cold drinks, fresh shells, ice melting just slowly enough — it was the right way to start. And I am from New England and these were fresh oysters! Then came the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Crispy, charred at the edges really good. I went with the 8oz filet, and it was outstanding. Properly seasoned, beautifully cooked. Everyone at our table loved their meals, and the drinks program kept up the entire night. Dessert was a small showdown between the key lime pie and the bread pudding, and honestly, both won. The key lime had that perfect tart-sweet balance that you only get from a place that takes the dish seriously, and the bread pudding was warm, rich, and exactly right for a long celebratory evening. This was the kind of restaurant TheAmoreLife will remember.”

“Everything was absolutely delicious. We also had the Sticky Ribs...they didn't last long enough to make the photo. Crispy outside & finished in a tangy Asian inspired sauce. They were great, Wow!”

“Was invited there by my daughter who lives in Thomasville. I was there for a weekend visit. Had the most amazing brunch . Our server Hannah was by far the best server I've had the pleasure of being waited on in a long time. Excellent drinks and top notch food at a reasonable price. Will be back next time I visit.”

“We really enjoyed our first visit to this establishment. Food was properly seasoned and really delicious! I had the filet and it was great, wife had the 1/2 chicken which was cooked perfectly. I might not have prepared the broccolini “wood fired” as it was a little too smoked tasting, however it was cooked perfectly so minor complaint. Highly recommend this spot for a nice date night. Oh and we loved the oysters!”

“This was my first time dining at St. James. We started with fresh oysters on ice, served simply with lemon and hot sauce. They were clean, briny, and incredibly fresh. You could tell right away that quality matters here. It was a great way to start the evening and made a strong first impression. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor, paired with creamy mashed potatoes and beautifully roasted broccolini. Cindy, our server, truly made the night. She was attentive and professional. She handled our group with ease, kept the timing just right. I was beyond impressed. Great atmosphere, exceptional food, and outstanding service from Cindy. St. James is a fantastic spot in Thomasville for a work dinner or special night out. I’m already looking forward to going back.”
