Anju is a restaurant and pub inspired by traditional Korean flavors and culture, brought to you by the same owners as local favorites CHIKO and Mandu. The menu reflects influences spanning from Korean street markets to palace era cuisine, while the bar features unique twists on Korean spirits such as Soju and Makkoli. “In New Orleans we have an amazing food scene but not quite the variety of cuisines as DC has, and limited options on good Korean restaurants. So we tried this spot while visiting DC. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We decided to go with the feed me option and it was delicious, basically smaller options of almost everything on the menu. But still a lot of food and they come box it between courses. We really enjoyed our meal, the food and cocktails were amazing. Definitely recommend it!”

“After hearing only great things about Anju, we finally made it. We got two bar seats and Alex gave us excellent, thoughtful service. There are several gluten free options from the main menu laid out on a gluten free menu if you ask, just to make selections easier. The NA options on the drink menu were impressive as well as the regular cocktail program. The presentation of each dish we ordered impressed us and the flavors were so fresh and complex. Can’t wait to come back to work through the rest of the menu.”

“Tried a bunch of items and I recommend the Galbi Ssam and lotus root side dish! Galbi Ssam is large and can be shareable but I would order this dish all for myself! The meat comes out rare/medium rare and I prefer more medium so I will ask for medium/well next time! I loved the garlic cloves it came with and the perilla leaves are always a yes when making ssam! Also recommend booking 1 day in advance to secure a spot upstairs!”

“Food was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed the different banchans. Of note, the kimchi is complimentary but you can pay $15 for thee additional. We ended up getting the radish, fish cakes and pickled cucumber. All were great. The best thing was probably the ssam platter. Very tender and flavorful steak. The kimchi jigae was okay, good flavor but the chunks of meat were too large and tough for us.”
