“This is my second time at a Duke’s location (and I haven’t been to one in a few years). I can gladly say the “proper burger” still lives up to the hype. It’s just as good as the one I had at their original location. Juicy, flavorful, sweet, and cooked perfectly. Just satisfying. I came with a party of 11 on a Thursday evening around 7:45pm and luckily they were able to sit us all (I did call ahead to make sure there was room). There’s street parking so that’s good but I’m sure on the weekends, it’s difficult to find parking around here. Overall, super glad I was able to check this spot out. I really liked the animal theme they had going on haha.”

“We stopped in for dinner, had it booked online. We ate inside . The curry was spicy, hot and tasty and had tons of chicken. Portion of rice was small and the server had suggested a side so I ordered fries which were scrummy. The other 2 had the fish and chips and their signature burger and all plates were cleared. The burger got a 10/10. Our server was friendly and with a glass of lovely white wine, a delicious cool beer and a coke our bill was $100 including our tip. Dine in or outside options. More of a buzz outside but after a day in the Zoo we were glad of the cool and quiet inside.”

“We enjoyed the experience at this place! We got sandwiches and all of them were a 10 out of 10! Specifically the BLTA and Proper burger! for the BLTA i substituted the ciabatta bread for sour dough and it was well worth it ! Portion was generous and prices were reasonable. Service was great as well!”

“Excellent location! Right across from the zoo entrance, and great value for price! Burgers were juicy and flavorful, wings excellently cooked with a tangy sauce, and fries crunchy. Way better than the overpriced food in the zoo!”

“Best Burger ever in the DC! "The proper burger" is a must. It won't disappoint you. If you are a burger fan, this is your place. Get one for yourself, dont share it. It is delicious!!!! Service was really quick. We got our food in like 5 minutes. Super fast! Great prices. Especially for the location, right in front of the zoo. Parking can be tricky but we found a spot 1 block away. We had lunch at like 3:30pm on a Saturday. Cubano Milanesa was good too. I recommend sharing it. *I forgot to take a photo of the food.”
