“I can't believe it! Let me tell you about my experience at this restaurant—it was absolutely amazing. The place reminded me so much of the restaurants you find in France; it was very cozy, and the decor transported me back to certain spots we visited there, bringing back such lovely memories. Now, as for the food: simply delicious! The onion soup—wow—super tasty. And the main course? I’m speechless. The flavor and texture were spot on, the side dishes were perfect, and the harmony of the ingredients was just... wow. Everything was so flavorful. Now, let me tell you: OMG, the dessert! I have no words—it was absolutely exquisite. The soufflé had the perfect texture and just the right amount of sweetness, and the cream served alongside it... wow. There are no words to describe this dessert; it left my taste buds reeling with sheer pleasure and happiness! 😂😂😂😂 You know I’m a total addict when it comes to good desserts, and believe me, when I write these reviews, I am as honest as can be. Good coffee and good desserts are my most delicious addictions! 😂😂😂 The coffee here is good—it’s not the absolute best I’ve ever had, but it has an intense, rich flavor and a nice, smooth foam. The service was excellent across the board; everyone working there was super friendly, respectful, and attentive. I really want to highlight this because, for me, service has to be excellent—it needs to be on the same level as the food—and this place possesses both of those qualities. The person who served our table was named Marvin; what incredible service he provided—a solid 10 out of 10! I highly recommend him; he was very attentive and friendly, and his recommendations were spot on, especially since it was our first time visiting this restaurant. The venue itself is very clean and spacious, and you can take some really beautiful photos there. What else can I say? I walked away with a truly happy experience thanks to everything overall. I highly recommend it!”

“We came here for a nice dinner and were very impressed. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. They even have a nice crackling fireplace. The food itself is lovely, and the soufflée is not to be missed. The tuna was also perfectly seasoned and absolutely delightful. The waitstaff is attentive and kind, offering suggestions when needed. We had a great experience and will definitely be back.”

“Used to come here with my parents. The food was always decent. The drive there through the winding roads of Chevy chase was always pleasant. Decided to come back to memory lane. It’s a shame they are not open consistently throughout the week and the website is very confusing regarding their opening hours. An institution in Chevy Chase. In fact it really is the only restaurant in the area. And just like the town, the atmosphere is still quite stuffy.”

“A comfortable, spacious country French space that feels like something that’s been unchanged for decades but not worn. Great wine list and wines by the glass. Started with the daily appetizer special with scallops accompanied by a nice Sancerre, followed with the calf sweetbreads which were delicious. We shared a couple of desserts where the chocolate cake with Grand Marnier stood out for me which they referred to as their 40 year favorite. Very nice experience. I would give it 4.5 stars across the board and look forward to coming back to try other dishes.”

“The food was consistently poorly executed. The liver was extremely overcooked—dry, tough, and unpleasant—with mushy onions on top that added nothing but an unappetizing texture. The bread was clearly undercooked, doughy, and seemed par-baked or previously frozen and reheated rather than made fresh. The couscous lacked any real flavor, and the vegetables were equally bland and lifeless. The soufflé was especially disappointing. Instead of being light, airy, and delicate as it should be, it was dense and underdone, with a texture closer to raw cake batter. It was simply not edible. What made the experience worse was the service. After we politely pointed out that the bread was undercooked, the waitstaff began avoiding our table entirely. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. Toward the end, the chef came out and was unexpectedly rude, making awkward attempts at French phrases that only added to the discomfort rather than resolving anything. As someone who is French, and who grew up around authentic French cooking—my father being a professional French chef—I know what proper technique, flavor, and presentation should look like. This was far from it. Overall, this was the worst French dining experience I’ve had. If I could give zero stars, I would. The positive ratings are honestly surprising and suggest that many diners may not be familiar with what authentic French cuisine should be.”
