Le DeSales, a restaurant located in South Dupont, across the street from the historic Mayflower Hotel. Upon reopening in December, Michelin-starred Chef Raphael François has brought back his most popular dishes while teaming with award winning Sushi Master Noriaki Yasutake (formally SEI Restaurant) presenting French/Asian cuisine, including a full sushi menu (signature Fish and Chips Roll) in an informal, cozy, and romantic setting. The specialized wine list includes diversified appellations encompassing regions as unexpected as Macedonia and Portugal, with a concise focus on France, Italy, and California. Also offering a sake menu and selections of Japanese Whiskeys. Le DeSales is available for large parties, semi-private events, and buyouts. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting.
“New favorite spot for happy hour and sushi. Such a great deal, delicious sushi with unique flavor combinations and influences from other cuisines and dishes. The staff is also so incredibly friendly. Highly recommend for drinks, a sit down meal, or just popping in for a bite.”
“Le Desales has a great happy hour from 4–8pm, with all bar seats and high tops participating. We tried several dishes and really enjoyed the experience. The salmon sliders were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tempura shrimp roll was crispy and delicious. The standout of the night was the sundried tomato and avocado roll. It surprisingly tasted like tuna! The texture is silky and the truffle yuzu sauce really tied everything together. So so good. The onion rings were fun though a bit oily. the fried lamb meatballs paired nicely with the yogurt sauce but could have used a little more seasoning. Our server was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the charming, artsy interior made for a relaxing evening. I’d definitely come back for their happy hour and that sundried tomato roll.”
“We went for live jazz brunch and it was amazing! Be sure to make a reservation to go, it’s every Saturday in February from 12-3pm. Great brunch food and the ambiance was very cozy. I’ve also been to their happy hour which is great! All staff are super friendly.”
“French onion soup gets me every time. This one was okay but I wish the broth were a deeper more profound affair. I liked that they asked how well done I wanted my salmon.”
“Came with friends to celebrate their anniversary. We had a good time. The menu had changed and we came with someone who’s been there before and were told beforehand of some delicious food items, but unfortunately they were no longer available. That kind of took the wind out of our sails. Overall the food was pretty good. The service was nice. The frog legs could’ve used a bit more salt. The ribeye was ordered medium and came medium rare. We also didn’t care for the broccolini. Apart from that, still pretty good. Love the idea of a fresh baked baguette. Nice to have fresh, warm bread. I’d come back, but likely order something else.”
