Little Coco's

“One of my favorite spots in Petworth! I can’t say I’m normally the biggest fan of Italian food, but Little Coco’s certainly makes me reconsider, with its delicious handmade pastas and pizzas, outrageously friendly service, and super cozy, intimate vibes. I visited for a Friday evening dinner. When we first walked in, we were greeted by (1) a remarkably warm hostess, who led us to a high top in the back, (2) a beautifully cozy space with wood paneling, art, and string lights illuminating the bar, and (3) the incredible scent of flour, herbs, and cheese. I didn’t think I was all that hungry but my friend and I were all but salivating by the time we sat down. After the server kindly walked us through the menu, we eventually settled on the squid ink tagliatelle and cacio e pepe with chicken. I was absolutely obsessed with the tagliatelle. I loved the extra salinity and funk from the squid ink, the lobster cream sauce was the perfect balance of fishy and creamy, and the shrimp was nicely tender and sweet. You could absolutely tell that the pasta was super fresh, and that definitely elevated the experience. My friend also loved the cacio e pepe, which was beautifully executed with just the right balance of pepper and cheese blanketed over the perfectly al dente pasta. We finished our meal with a slice of tiramisu, which was a wonderful sweet bite to finish the meal. As a side note, I will admit that I had previously ordered Little Coco’s for delivery, and, while it was delicious, it did not blow me away in quite the same way as having it in-person did. While the flavors remain, I think the effect of Uber Eats unfortunately ruins the texture of the pasta, which really detracts from the experience. It’ll certainly do in a pinch if you’re craving the flavor of Little Coco’s, but I’d recommend coming in for the real thing.”

“We had the most amazing time, our waiter was so kind and the atmosphere of the restaurant really makes you feel like you’re here for a family dinner. All the dishes were delicious and large portioned. The pasta is handmade, and the drinks are delicious.”

“After a birthday massage at bluebell spa, my wife and I decided to go to Little Coco‘s for an impromptu date night. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to get us a seat outside and then moved us inside which was awesome. Very friendly staff. They do a great job taking care of their guest. My wife and I started with the Caesar salad and calamari. Typically, whenever I’ve had calamari, it’s served with a dipping sauce but this one was tossed in a butter sauce. It was amazing. We then had the rigatoni and cacio e Pepe. The rigatoni was good but the pasta was al dente which I liked but my wife did not. We preferred the cacio e Pepe but what stole the show was the mt vasuvius. Best pizza I’ve had in a while. My wife love it. I highly recommend this spot.”

“We had a reservation on a Saturday night. The food was good. We ordered the ciabatta appetizer with cheese, spicy rigatoni and meat + mushroom pizza. The only downfall was the service. It took a while to be greeted. Then our drinks (a beer and dirty martini ) arrived after our appetizer in very wet glasses. It took a bit to get our check at the end as well.”

“The food was ok, but it was trully the service that made the food seem even worse. When we walked in they seemed confused by our presence and eventually one of the 3 people at the desk asked how can we help you. My mom said, "we'd like to sit for dinner" and she finally asked, "table for 2?" I could excuse that but service continued to be bad. She asked what we were drinking and then took off before I could tell her we were ready for food. When she returned with our drinks which was pretty fast she asked what we were eating. She brought our food and we didn't see her again. I asked another server for cheese and she seemed confused why I was asking her. The spicy rigatoni was ok. The pasta was cooked well and the sauce was sauce, I wasn'tgetting much spicy or cream, it just tasted like a decent tomato gravy.. The Ceasar, however, was so salty my lips felt like a salt lick by the time we left. There's so many places in DC that make good Italian that I just could not, in good conscious recommended this place to anyone I love.”
