“There is nothing basic about “The Basics”! First of all, the cheese grits are to die for! The bacon and cheese omelette was very fresh and good as well. Great cheese to bacon ratio. I saw a couple of people order the pancakes, a must try for me. The server was a very attentive personable young lady with a lovely smile. I must go back!!!!”

“Absolutely,, hands down, Best BBQ meal with Brunswick stew I've had in a long time. Smithfield's Was my spot. That changed today. Their homemade BBQ sauce is delicious. For dessert, I had to get the Hummingbird cake to top it all off 5☆☆☆☆☆ across the board. I found a New spot. Going to try breakfast next. I heard it was really good”

“Walked by this place many times but never tried it. Glad I did. Great food and very reasonable prices. I had pulled pork that was excellent, but my judgement on “good bbq” is only rendered after I try their cornbread and coleslaw. Well, they passed the test with flying colors. Coleslaw was fresh and crunchy with great flavor. Cornbread was deliciously toasted and topped with a bit of honey and butter. Unusual presentation but it worked. They don’t skimp on the sides, as my friend ordered the risotto side and was a meal in itself. This place is a gem.”

“Delicious southern food. I had the fried green tomatoes which were good but there was too much sauce and toppings on them. The meatloaf was absolutely delicious. And the collard greens were my favorite item. They were well cooked, flavorful and the pepper vinegar put them over the top. Would recommend.”

“The peach cobbler was supposed to take 15 minutes came out cold, thought it was fresh made. no crust, oatmeal consistency for the crust as such it wasn’t. Shrimp and grits came out like soup not thick and 5 shrimp. Not really worth $18. Maybe at most 12-13. My wife said her salad was fine. She’s had better. We both agreed the fried okra a side was the best part of the meals We normally enjoy our experience here as we have dined multiple times, seems like it’s trending hit or miss for us”
