Nirvana Indian Cuisine

“Top-quality Indian food in the Catskills! Every dish was prepared with care, attention to detail, and authenticity. We had the kale baji appetizer, baingan bharta (eggplant), tadka dal, garlic naan, kerala paratha and the mango mousse. The breads were fantastic, flaky, crumbly, flavorful, just melting in your mouth. The dal was light, gentle, and incredibly flavorful. The bharta was delicious even if it wasn't as smoky as one would've liked; the crisp curry leaves added to the flavor and taste (although it was, maybe, a giveaway that the chef was Southern Indian lol). The appetizer was crisp, tasty, with a great chutney. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. As a connoisseur of Indian food, I'd highly recommend this restaurant! PS: The only two recommendations to the restaurant I'd have: (1) try to get the baingan bharta a bit more authentic by charring the eggplant directly over a flame; and (2) please fix the music -- it was a generic genre-less elevator music -- a gentle sitar and tabla or a southern Indian violin would be a gorgeous addition to the food!”

“We had lunch and dinner on.a Saturday and brunch buffet at 12 noon on Sunday. We loved the lunch and dinner absolutely, though it was quite crowded at 7pm on Saturday. Brunch buffet spread was a bite limited. We liked the kachumber (cucumber) salad and baingan (eggplant) bhartha dish. Parking was bit difficult to find though nearby parking is reserved for businesses in the building that has Nirvana restaurant.”

“The food was creative, fresh and rich with flavor. Seasoning was well balanced, not overpowering. Best Indian food I've tasted in years. Atmosphere was quiet and romantic, but they had space for larger groups.”
