“We stopped by here today with friends, and I feel like we were lucky-the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. A light fog really added a beautiful touch to the surrounding views. It wasn’t crowded, the staff was friendly, the wine was lovely, and the cheese board was delicious. We spent time sitting outside under blankets, enjoying the quiet after New York and each other’s company. I’d really love to see this place in the summer as well. Definitely recommend”

“First time yesterday, and I will be coming back. Officially my favorite winery. From the service, to the wine and food. Incredibly delicious flatbread and charcuterie. We had the Virginia Sampler. The amount of food in the charcuterie is perfect and they are not stingy about it like other wineries. My mom loves wineries and she had one she said she will never choose over another BUT yesterday, that other one has been dethroned lol. I’m still dreaming about the board from yesterday. I cannot wait to go back. Oh the live music yesterday made the ambience 10x better.”

“On our first wine journey through Virginia and we spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon sitting on the patio at Delaplane enjoying some decent wine and listening to good music. The patio is well outfitted with umbrellas, which came in handy given the bright sunshine. Our server was great. The wines were...pretty good, but consistently priced well beyond their value (which seems to be a thing in Northern VA). Hey, it's not cheap to build and maintain their beautiful property and huge multi-room tasting facility, but I would be inclined to rates their wines higher if they were priced about $10 a bottle less. At $25 for a "self-guided" flight of four pre-selected wines, even their tastings are a bit pricey. At that price point, at least let me choose the wines I want to taste off your list. That said, the wines were good. The Viognier, which appears to be one of their flagship wines was nice, as was their Piedmont Station red blend, so we bought a bottle of each of those. Nothing else in the flights was particularly exciting, although nothing was bad either. In summary, if you want to spend a couple hours in a gorgeous setting drinking good to very good wines, and you aren't particularly price sensitive, you're probably going to enjoy a visit to Delaplane.”

“Today it was awful. Usually it's pretty good but today while I was enjoying my wine I smelled cigar smoke. A group of people were sitting on the balcony, at least two were smoking cigars. This is a no smoking winery. I was told these cigar smokers were the owners. Everyone knows your need your taste buds and nose to enjoy wine. There is no way to enjoy wine when all you can smell is cigar. It was outside but the cigar smell was very strong. These people own a winery but don't know how to enjoy wine? The manager was nice and tried to make things better but we left. I'm not staying in a place where the owners have so little regard for their customers.”
