Pollak Vineyards was built on the historic Mountain Hollow Farm in 2003, where David and Margo Pollak realized their vision of growing and producing award-winning Virginia wines. Today there is 34 acres of French vinifera used to make estate grown wine that have the finesse and balance of the traditional French varietals. The tasting room and patio offer views of our first vines, the pond, and the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a scenic setting to enjoy a glass of wine and some of the best of Central Virginia’s wine country. The Tasting Room is open Wednesday-Sunday and Holiday Mondays from 12-5pm (last call for glasses and open bottles at 4:30pm). Smuggler Society wine club members are welcome to reserve the table of their choice in advance for any group size up to 12 people. The maximum group size on the property is 12 people. Reservations are needed for any group of 6-12 people (members and non-members). “Truly enjoyed this winery. We shared the white 🥂 and red wine flights 🍷 and enjoyed all of them which isn’t always the case for me with VA wines. We also got the bread 🥖 and olive oil and both were super yummy and nice addition to the wine tasting. Loved that this had a nice view of the mountains with a pretty lake next door. They have covered seating on the porch as well as outdoor patio with umbrellas. Being an adult with no kids we were looking for a more adult vibe on the quiet side today and this place delivered. Would definitely return with friends or an intimate day date.”
“I selected this winery based on Elizabeth Schneider’s recommendation (Wine For Normal People podcast) when she discussed the Monticello AVA region. I then was super excited to listen to another podcast from her literally 1 week before our wine trip that featured ONLY Pollack and their history and wines! I took notes (thanks Elizabeth) and shared the information with the group of ladies I was with to further their education and increase their level of understanding. I found the winery very welcoming. Lots of patio seats and you could sit in the sun if you wished. Yes, it’s small, but the fact they use 100% estate grown grapes and produce the excellent wines they have, is pretty darn amazing! I would love to go back and try more than what was on the flights. And yes, I bought the Wine for Normal People book there to take home and read!!!! Overall, loved!!!”
“Our first stop on a mother/daughter self guided wine tour! Came on a Sunday at end of March, it was nice & busy for “offseason”! Promptly & warmly greeted inside - felt like staff wanted to get to know us. We ended up going with both the white & red flights, along with the homemade local bread (highly recommend). Our favorites were the Chardonnay, Viognier and the Merlot! Sat on the patio with the heaters and really enjoyed ourselves. Clean with just a stunning view of the pond and mountains. Lots of seating indoors, on the patios and on the lawn! Overall, an amazing first stop on our tour - felt very family orientated, clean & warm! Amazing! Must stop!”
“Beautiful Fall Halloween day spent at Pollak. One of the prettiest wineries in the area and serves stellar wines. Pinot noir is our favorite. Incredible views, super friendly staff. Even lobsters and Minnie mouse are welcome. I will note they they allow you to bring your own food which is important if u have special diet restrictions but also sell Caromont cheese and more. Gggrrrrrrrrrrrr”
