Located in the heart of Lakeview, Ella Elli is a charming space full of conversation and globally inspired cuisine. This space is for gathering over a bottle of wine with either friends or a date.
“First time in to this restaurant and I can’t wait to return. Everything was delicious! That beet salad was amazing. Scallop plate emptied. Pink squirrel for dessert? Who knew it would be a MUST have! Our server Christopher gave exceptional service from start to finish. Every time he came to the table he was knowledgeable and enjoyable. Well done, Ella Elli!”
“One of Chicago’s best kept secrets in Southport. You feel like you’ve stepped inside a different world. From an amazing wine list, great service, housemade pasta it’s all so good. Loved the mushroom toast and hubby loved the French Onion one. The Sea Bass was excellent. Get that gooey butter cake. Ask for Paige as your server!”
“It was AMAZING!!! From the food, to the service, everything was great! We had amazing food and even better dessert. I highly recommend the Gooey Butter Cake. The texture was like no other, and I have never had anything better. The drinks were perfect and even though the courses were small, they were very filling. Definitely coming here again next time I’m in Chicago.”
“Ella Elli was fantastic. The drinks were delicious as was the food. The only reason I have to dock a star is because we felt like the portions were a bit on the small side to be shared with a table of 4. If you are going here with a date and it’s just the two of you then portion sizes are perfect. If there are more people in the party I would definitely consider ordering two of any dish that all are wanting to try. The food was absolutely spectacular though. Every dish from the bread and butter to the octopus was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We had the Brussels sprouts, squash, octopus, focaccia, sea bass, gnocchi, and cream puffs. Highly recommend giving Ella Elli a try. I doubt you’ll leave disappointed.”
“So the problem wasn’t with the taste of the food. It was the quantity. I get its restaurant week, but it still ends up being a $150 meal, you shouldn’t leave still hungry. The portions are the smallest they could legally be while still technically serving you food. I just think they went overboard with the size shrinkage. Especially the cheesecake, it was like a crumb. Like they cut a normal slice into 1/4’s. The tuna is two finger nail sized pieces of Tuna. At least don’t be stingy on the dessert. Also - they just renamed the surcharge to “3.5% admin fee” Cause I guess enough people wised up to the surcharge so they rebranded it. I’m just sick of having to be nickel and dimed by restaurants. Service and wait staff was great though!”
