“Jesse's Restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate a special event. Food is simply prepared to perfection and presented beautifully by a superb staff--Thank you Brittany! And our hostess, Desiree was wonderfully accommodating and ready with every answer about this very special place! Then there is the beautiful setting and fabulous atmosphere to cap off your event with the best of memories!”
“IMO, the BEST food in Baldwin county! We've eaten at Jesse's many times over the years and I think it gets better and better every time we go. Most recently we had the Smoked Brisket Au Jus sandwich and the Pesto Salmon with a side of green beans for lunch. Food was nice and hot and DELICIOUS. We had the Bread Pudding for dessert and I think it was the best bread pudding I've ever had. Also, the service was excellent and big shout out to Jenny (sp?) our server. She's wonderful and such a joy to talk with. Already looking forward to our next visit to Jesse's.”
“Beautiful grounds and a cool restaurant. Old school Alabama high end restaurant. Dry aged steaks, oysters, beef tartare, Ceasar salad with sardines!! That salad was amazing. Good wine and liquor selection. Local joint visitors must go and enjoy. Bit of a drive, you won’t be disappointed.”
“We had a decent time at Jesse’s Restaurant, but there were definitely some ups and downs throughout the meal. On the good side, the oysters were fresh and really good. The Caesar salad was amazing and the mac and cheese was flavorful and filling. The shrimp and grits were the best thing we ordered all night. My son also really enjoyed his kids’ grilled cheese. The bread appetizer though was pretty bland and nothing special. The biggest issues of the night were with the steaks. My dry-aged ribeye came out cold and had more fat on it than I expected for a 12oz steak. My guest’s filet came out rare instead of medium rare, so they replaced it, but the second one came out charred and burnt. That was pretty disappointing. Overall it was a decent experience and the staff did try to make things right with the filet. If I go back, I’ll probably just stick with the shrimp and grits and skip the steaks altogether.”
“We arrived at 2:30, so we ordered off the in-between menu. While our food was good, we ordered a dozen raw oysters from the menu and were disappointed to see that the restaurant did not serve top-raised, farmed oysters, as is typical at most restaurants of similar culinary caliber. When we told the server, he said they actually do have two farm-raised varieties. I’m not sure why these were not offered to us when we ordered oysters, nor why when we voiced our displeasure he did not do anything to fix his mistake. On a pleasant note, the limoncello tiramisu was likely the best dessert I’ve had this year. The toasted pistachios were a beautiful touch.”
